I have also noticed that my discharge has changed, it is mostly white, not in great quanities however I see it most after urinating. Is it normal to have discharge with endometriosis, I have been checked for everything to ensure that I do not have a STI so I know that the discharge does not come one. I would really like to know if anyone else has experiend this with Endo. its the one thing doctors can not explain.

White discharge sounds a lot like yeast. It can be anywhere from a white watery, to milky, to cottage-cheese-like discharge. It is diagnosed w/ a quick microscope slide in the doctor's office, or if you have a microscope at home, you can do your own slide. It's easy to tell...the hyphae (active yeast) looks like Medusa. You can also see buds before it reaches hyphae stage.

Seriously though... does endo affect your discharge? I've always wondered but can't find any info on it.

Since endometriosis is by definition outside of the uterus, unless it is somehow inside the cervix, vagina, bladder, or intestines, it shouldn't contribute to any discharge you would see...and if it did, it would be bloody, as when it breaks down, it bleeds. It's usually contained w/in the pelvic cavity--and you dont' see any discharge from that.

I've always had a white discharge also. I've never had an STD and I've only had a yeast infection twice from taking antibiotics so maybe it is endo related. Who knows?? But I wanted to let you know I have the same thing!

I've never heard that it does, but I guess maybe it could because it messes with your hormones and your hormones do tell you what kind of discharge to have when. I don't know the full connection between hormones and discharge though.

Ah. I wasn't thinking in those terms. I've never read or heard of any studies regarding endo hormone imalances and anything to do w/ discharge. Probably the best thing to do would be to have a slide analyzed and a culture to see if anything significant grows out of it.
I did have a discharge like that while I was on the b.c. pill, which after culture and slide only turned out to be epithelial cells--from vaginal atrophy caused by the high progestin in the pills I was on.

I too have white discharge. I always have. In fact, I once had a yeast infection for who knows how long because I didn't notice a change in the discharge. My Dr. found it when I had my yearly. Gross eh.

I've always had a discharge too, nothing wrong, just me. I've never really associated it with endo, its just lots of women have discharge for no reason, I think of them as two separte problems.

When I get home, I'll scan a page out of a book w/ color photos on the different types of normal cervical fluid. It's really cool to see the variations among women in what a body can secrete! <--Yeah, I know I'm a nerd!

I used to be quite bad with developing yeast infections, which is known to be a sign of possible endo. Anyways, there can also be a harmless bacterial overgrowth too, or if you've just come off the pill your body could be getting back to normal. After peeing too may be very normal, as your muscles relax in some places and then contract in others like your abdominal wall. I have found that it happens with me, and also on my period there will be a lot of blood while peeing cos of this muscle action... Safest way is to get tested again as suggested! xx

I went from "Rubbery or Gummy" right after quitting the pill to "Milky" in a year's time. It also used to burn when I'd have the "Rubbery or Gummy" kind. I thought it was an infection and just wound up being from having been on such a high progestin b.c. pill for so long.

I've noticed that since my periods have become heavier and I stopped taking any form of birthcontrol that my discharge is way heavier and whiter. Anyone whos had a yeast infection knows it is no fun, so I know that it isn't that. It wouldn't make sense to have a constant yeast infection for months and now know it. My doctor suggested that my discharge would have to do with the endo due to the hormonal issues it causes.
