how big a cyst has to be to become an issue and my require surgery or other intervention. I had a ultrasound las October and my doctor said that on my left side there was a 5 cm cyst but when examined internally he could not find it. He did not seem too concern, but since I while ago I had a cyst that burst and caused a LOT of endo I am kind of worry . Has anyone have any input on this?

I think that first, it depends on the type of cyst. A "chocolate" cyst would worry me--because that is endometriosis. An ovulatory-type cyst usually shrinks on its own--and has nothing to do w/ endometriosis. I had one a couple months ago, and I went on the pill to hurry and shrink it. I just had a follow-up ultrasound (tummy and trans-vaginal) last friday. The cyst I had shrunk/disappeared. Here is a great thread on ovarian cysts--great info on the different types of cysts, too! cjlevett.proboards33.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1163700884&page=1
