This morning my older sister found out she is pregnant for the second time! She already has a three-year-old son (who I played farm with for three hours today...I think I now have an aversion to little plastic horses). She has been trying to get pregnant for almost a year, so this is a surprise but not an accident. Getting pregnant was a problem for her the first time too, it took her over a year the first time. Anyway I'm very excited about getting a new niece or nephew! This will be number four for me, since my oldest sister already has a daughter who is almost sixteen and a son who is fourteen. I guess all these miscarriage stories I've read lately have made me feel nervous because I keep worrying that it won't work out and wondering how my nephew will deal with that (he is very excited about the new baby, he's been asking for one for ages). It will probably be okay though. My sister has no past history of miscarriages, my nephew is the only other pregnancy she's ever had. Anyway I'm hoping for the best, and I'm really looking forward to this! I'm kind of hoping for a girl this time but obviously I will be thrilled with whatever child shows up.

She's doing fine. I guess she's like a month along now. She's still having more nausea than before, but she's handling the whole thing very well. It hasn't been bad enough to interfere with her taking care of her son or anything.
On a side note, tomorrow is my niece's sixteenth birthday! That makes me feel so old!

Well, this afternoon my sister went in for her sonogram...and we're still not sure if she's having a boy or a girl! The sonographer said it was definitely a boy but when she pointed to the penis, my sister and her husband couldn't see anything. The baby's hand was down there kind of blocking things. The midwife couldn't see it either but said the sonographer probably knew what she was talking about. It was so obvious with my nephew though that they are wondering why nobody but the sonographer could see it! They've decided to be prepared either way just in case. I wonder if it's possible that the sonographer is wrong, or if we should just trust that she knows what she's talking about since she's the expert?

Gratz! Uh my past experiences are that the radiologists are not perfect.. they do make the mistakes and ultrasounds are not 100% either. So they should be prepared for either or. Ya know?

It looks like she's probably going to have the baby tonight! That worked out surprisingly, as this is her due date. Anyway I don't know much more yet, but I will post when I know more!

At this point, she's still not in the hospital. Her contractions are coming 3-7 minutes apart, but they aren't that intense. The midwife told her not to go back home (she lives about 30 minutes out of town) as she will most likely end up in the hospital tonight. I'm so glad she didn't go back home! I was worried about her making that drive! Anyway, I can't believe it's taking this long! The suspense is killing me!!!!

If she is not at home and not at the hospital, where is she? At your house?

Last I knew, she was at the park, and then she was gonna take her son back to his friends' house and see if he's serious about going to sleep there (he says he wants to, but she's not sure if he will) and then she's probably going to come to my house. And then I'm going to take her for a walk, because I want to meet this baby!
Just kidding. It's dark now so I don't think she'll go for a walk with me.
