LOVE IT! LOVE IT! LOVE IT!!! I had a problem with a weird pink mold that would form on the seats and along the ledge of our shower. No matter how much I cleaned it, the stupid stuff would come back (We have a problem w/ humidity in the master bathroom.). There were also little dots of mildew appearing in the corner of the shower ceiling! I went to the store this weekend and bought a spray bottle of Tilex mold and mildew remover...and it WORKED!~!!! I only sprayed a bit, thinking I'd have to come back and scrub the crud off, but I didn't! The stuff just disappeared! Even on the ceiling! I'm impressed! Thought this might be useful info to someone who is aggravated w/ mildew and doesn't want to scrub the crap every week!

I feel inspired already! I'll have to check out the ingredients on that stuff. I have a major mildew problem in the shower. I usually clean with vinegar and one day I decided to see if the vinegar made a difference with the mold. I sprayed vinegar like crazy all between the tiles and nothing happened (this is the anti-inspiration part of the thread: don't expect vinegar to kill mildew!). My dad went into the bathroom shortly after this and nearly choked to death. He asked me why the bathroom smelled like vinegar. I said "Well I was trying to clean the mildew off but ti wouldn't get clean," and he said "So you decided to punish it by spraying it with vinegar?" That really made me laugh. I had to explain of course that the vinegar was what I was trying to clean it with. Anyway, if I'm ok with the Tilex ingredients I might try it. I'm so sick of looking at that midew!!! Or mold. I don't really know the difference. Whatever it is it's not pink, it's really dark. Anyway thank you for sharing your cleaning inspiration

LOL--erzulie!!!!!! Your vinegar story was awesome!!! Made me laugh! Louise, I'm trying to think of a good definition of "crud." Crud, crud, crud. I guess it is like when "crap" is used to describe something that is not really sh-it (Had to hyphenate so it wouldn't get edited.). Haha. This explanation sounds funny. It's used to describe dirt, grit, or basically something filthy. But you can also say, "Oh, crud!"...which is like "Oh, crap!"...which is like, "Oh sh-it!" It's a multi-purpose word for something that is not good/pleasant.

Yeah crud is anything yucky. I tend to refer to endometriosis implants as "crud." In fact, as I was just telling ouchy the other day, the folder in my web browser that holds my bookmarks for endometriosis-related pages is called "crud." I didn't want to make a folder called "endometriosis," for some reason that just bothered me (I was still having trouble accepting that I had the disease at that time) so I decided to just name it "crud." It's a fitting name I think. I also sometimes talk about the crud that's all over my guts, meaning of course all the endometrial tissue that isn't where it belongs.

Hey, shakes! I've used comet w/ bleach on the glass shower doors before. I shake it on and then scrub it w/ a scrub brush. Seems to work pretty well.

Problem is, chlorine is bad for creatures with endometriosis. That's why I try to stay away from bleach.

I've been using Tilex Mildew Remover for years. It's a Godsend! ;D I once had a boyfriend who had a seeeerious mold/mildew problem (I think it's worse when there's no window in the bathroom). He NEVER tried to clean the mildew and I always got the heeby-jeebies when I had to shower in his tub. So I Tilex-ed away. Not only were his tub and tiles white again, I had used so much that the chemicals apparently ate into the crud that was inside his drain. So, the water started to drain out faster, too.
I'm sure the chemicals in it are not endo-friendly. But I just can't deal with mildew stains, they make me feel unclean. I don't know of anything natural that gets the stains as well as Tilex. Erzulie, please let us know if you find anything.
