This is sooooooooo funny! While my husband and I were recently on vacation, we had a neighbor in the hotel who apparently loved birds and would whistle cool bird calls to the birds outside on the balcony. My husband thought it would be funny to answer back w/ a unique "birdcall".... and the guy got excited and started whistling back. My husband whistled back again with the same call, and the guy shouted to the kid who was there with him, "Did you hear that!!?? It answered!!" ...this went on for a good 5 min. or so and became a morning routine!

I did something similar to my sister. We were on vacation in Guatemala at my aunts house and she had a mango tree in the garden at the time. We were pretty upset that all the mangos had been eaten by fruit bats but I came up with a cool way to get over it. I found a rubber squeeky toy and hid it in the garden. Then my cousin and I went into the bedroom at night and told my sister that these fruit bats would answer when you whistled at them. I left the room and she started whistleling and I started making the toy squeek. My cousin and I kept taking turns and we even got her to believe that they could count by squeeking back the same number of times that she whistled. She is still as gullable as she was back in those days. I still remind her about the counting fruit bats........ Maybe The Count on Sesame Street helped to really make her believe that fruit bats could count
