Just wanted to find out if anyone else has had the same experience..
After my laparoscapy in Feb I went onto the b/c pill and had one bleed in about April. I was then taking it straight through up until June. It's now August and I have still not had a bleed, for me this is abnormal. I have been on the pill for years at a time and not experienced this. There is no way I could be pregnant and apart from that I'm all out of ideas!
Would be grateful for any thoughts
Thanks

Hi, meldart. There was one pill where it took me over a year of continuous pills to quit getting breakthrough bleeding. When I finally did a placebo week, I had breakthrough after that again for several months--don't know what would have happened after that, because I wound up quitting the pills for good. Congrats on no period, though! OH. If you have been really ill or under tons of stress, that can cause you to skip it, too.

Thanks Ouchy, I had been thinking the same about being stressed or ill but i have been neither. normally my periods are regular as clockwork (i'm lucky in that respect) even when im not on the pill. Oh well I will just stay off it until I finally have a bleed and see where we go from there!

I'm sorry. I misread your post. You quit taking the pill in June. Ignore my previous post. Sorry!!!

Hi Meldart, Sorry for the late reply. I hope you are still reading this thread. I am 41 years old, and always had fairly regular cycles every 18-21 days. (Yuck) About 8 months ago, I started going 8-9 weeks between periods. I have also starting with incredible hot flashes and night sweats. My primary kept telling me that I am way too young for menopause! After they checked my hormone levels, they started to believe my complaints! Anyway, my point is, How old are you, and have you had any labs done to check your hormone levels? Hope you are well. Wendy

That is a good point, wndyjt. My step-sister went in to premature menopause about 3 years ago at the age of 34!!! Out of the blue, a couple weeks ago, she found out she was pregnant!!! She hadn't even had her period in about 3 years. Apparently she came out of the menopause and ovulated and got pregnant that same month! Premature menopause CAN happen, and apparently, it's not always a permanent thing! Getting hormone levels checked is a must.
