Hi, my name is Jen and I was diagnosised with endo three years ago. After three laproscopes, two rounds of Lupron, I finally felt I had found something that worked. After seeing a new doctor, who was a lot more radical then my last surgeon, my endo was cleaned out and I was put on continuous birth control and agysten. I have been on both for over a year. I had no spotting, no pain. Now for the last two weeks, I have been spotting. I am so sick of finding something that works and then a year later I have to find something new. I know that spotting can be common when you first start birth control, but never heard of it after being on it for this amount of time with no problems. Can anyone relate?

Welcome Jen! It seems like most people with endometriosis have breakthrough bleeding on the pill. It is strange that you didn't have this problem before and have developed it now. If you talk to your doctor about it s/he may suggest that you double up on the pills or try a different pill. You may also find more success with natural treatments. We have a whole section where you can read about people's experiences with that!

Hi, Jen! I had breakthrough that started on my first pill, Ortho Tri-Cyclen after about 9 months. I had breakthrough on Lo/Ovral after about 11 months of continuous use. I had breakthrough on Ortho Evra after abotu 8 months. The other 8 brands I was on, I had cyclic braekthrough or continuous spotting the whole time. It is possible to suddenly start having breakthrough after not having breakthrough for months...in my experience, anyway Welcome to the forum!!!
