Hi Everyone, I am new to this thread and your site has been very helpful to me. I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with Endo last Sept after a year of going to diff doctors to try and find out what was wrong with me. I had lap surg last October and was fine for about 3 months now I am worse than I was. I dont know if my pains are normal because I get them in my lower back kidney area almost everyday. I do not want to get on the Lupro shot which my doc recommends because I am afraid of the side effects, I would like to have kids in the next 2 years. I was on Lartabs but my doct took me off of them 2 weeks ago because he is afriad I am going to get addicted. So now I have to suffer though the pain. Anyone that can help me or give any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks ~Jen

Welcome Jen! How long have the pains been in your kidney area? It could be something unrelated, like kidney stones. Maybe you should get that checked out if you haven't already. If you don't like the drug treatments available you can check out the alternative treatments section of this forum. I've found some herbs that have really reduced my pain. I used to have chronic pain until I started taking them. My cramps are still worse than I'd like them to be, but they are better than they were for a while and I know there are still things I haven't tried so I;m not giving up. I don't really believe that we have to use modern medicine. Of course it's what doctors always want us to do, but it's not always the best thing for us.

hi Jen, our pain might be different but i agree with erzule that modern medicine is not always the answer- i believe in alternative medicine too.if you have problem discussing this with your doctor, i can understand as i am married to one and it's not easy to change tehir mindset as they have trained towards modern medicine- not heir fault. since we have choices, do some study and apply it to yourself, in fact we are the one who are in pain, not them. i have a book - i call it my 'health bible'- it's all about vitamin, hebs and minerals. i'm taking vit c, ca and mg, epo at this moment. i does help. take chasteberry, wild yam and dong quai too. i have problem getting chasteberry and wild yam here but dong qui is very easy. i haven't manage to get all the recommended supplement. if you need a copy if the page on endometriosis, i can send you via email take care God Bless

Hi Jen I have the same pain you do if I was you like others had said get the kidney checked out then you can rules some things out before saying its Endo. I was on the lupron and so was my twin sis and it did not work for us. My sis did not go in mentapause (sp) and it made her endo worse. I was on it and the same happen to me but I had to be on 4 different types of meds I had to see a psych. and I wanted to kill everyone in sight. You really need to be careful when you are on the Lupron. My gyn and endocron. told me that the Lupron is good for women who is older not young like us. ( My endocron. works out of John Hopkins and he is one of the best in the US) There was nothing else they could put me on so that was my last resort that is why I went on it plus my health insur. said that for me to get the twins out I have to go on that. So I would think before you went on the Lupron. But remember it is up to you don't let the dr tell you what you are doing. Good luck and keep us posted.
