Hi I'm Jenn and I am 24 years old. I was diagnosed about 2 years ago w/ Endo. when I had a laparoscopy done. After that I was told the best aproach would be to get pregnant since I defnitly wanted to have a child before long anyways. So I got pregnant very quickly after my surgery. Then not even three months after having my son the pain was back. The next option was the Lupron Depot injections which had some crappy side effects but, comtrolled the pain. A little over a month after my last shot the pain was back. Now I am on birthcontrol and have been having two periods in one month and horrible pain so bad that I can't even take care of my 13 month old w/ out help somedays. I don't know what else to do? I was told that if I wanted another child I need to think about it in the near future and then after my next child I can have a hysterectomy if I don't want anymore chldren. Whick I don't so it sound great but, I am not sre f I can handle another child so close in age yet? I am very fortnate to have a great doctor but, still just looking for some advice on what to do or any other suggestions? Thank you so much! It's nice to know there are finally people to talk to who are going through the same things.

Hey there Jen. I'm almost 24 myself and I was diagnosed a little over a year ago. I had a lap and had lazer...I was also told to try immediately and because my then fiance (now husband) wasn't ready we waited. It was definitely a good idea to try straight after the opp...cos now we are struggling so congradulations on your little one! One of the problems with being diagnosed is that you end up with alot of pressure...whether its pressure to have children immediately or pressure to be normal...to seem like you're coping all the time...when infact sometimes you really just aren't. I think you are very brave and you need to know that. I'm not qualified to give you advice but I can tell you what I think and so will the other ladies. If you are not coping some days with your son then having another child may be alot of extra pressure. Do you want to have a hysterectomy? I'm glad you have a good doctor but I think you should do research yourself and figure out what is best for you. Having a hysterectomy when you are so young is a very big decision. We will always be here for you even if it is just to give support which is mostly what I'm trying to do here. All the best.

Thank you so much for the support. It's nice to know that someone out there can relate to how I feel especialy someone my age. My mother had the same problems and after her hysterectomy she has never had another problem and me and my husband only want one more child so I figure why not have it done and then I won't have to have my tubes tied later on. I have to have a C-section again so they will do it right after the baby would be born. So I figure that is my best option. My problem is I want to wait at least 11 more months before we start to try so I need to figure out how to manage my pain til that time b/c my pain has never been as severe as it has been lately and that scares me too b/c what if I wait too long and then can't have a baby? So it's alot to deal with. I wish you all the luck in the world in trying. So what all have doctors told you to do other than get pregnant? well good luck! and I hope to hear back from you!

Hey ther Jenn. No one else in my family has had endo so no one really understands...that's wonderful about your mom being so much better. If you are happy with that decision then its the one to go for. I have a friend who had a hysterectomy right after her second baby because of blood clotting. She says its the best decision she ever made. I understand that you would want a bit of an age gap and I get what you are saying about the fear thing. It's something I'm struggling with at the moment. I want to be so positive but its a little daunting. The docs gave us six months...my opp was last year march so it over a year later that we are trying and its not working. Been 5 months now...and with hubby's stressful job he really doesn't have his heart in trying all the time. The doc's want to do another lap in June if I'm not preg yet. I don't want another opp, my last one was terrible, it took me like 6 weeks to recover, I could hardly walk. So I'm scarred, I'm also scarred that we can't have one...silly I suppose but it is something that you have to face eventually. So for now I'm just being positive. At least trying to be. Why did you have a C-section? I'm just interested cos I have a very small cervix and was wondering if i would have to? My periods also seem to be dissapearing. Sounds nuts right? So I'm worried that the blood may be flowing backwards...don't know if you have heard that theory. I'm basically a hormonal mess. So good to know someone out there cares. I'm so jealous that you have a little one. I lost one very early in my pregnancy a few years ago and ever since then its all i've wanted. Write back?

Lauren it's great to hear from you again. Thanks again for the support! I had a c-section b/c my sons heart rate went really low and so did my blood pressure. He turned his head while I was in labor and was stuck. I only dialated to 4 and half and I also had gestational diabetes the last 3 months of my pregnancy so it made my chance higher. I don't know about the small cervix but, ,mine is up higher than normal so I think that had something to do w/ mine b/c the baby wouldn't come down more. And I didn't think having a c-section was all that bad. See I'm just like you a crazy mess.lol. I left you some tips on one of your topics on ideas to conceive so check them out. I wish I knew the time difference thing b/c then we could chat. If you would like to chat I have myspace and msn so let me know if you know about either maybe we could set something up? I was also wondering if you know anthing about another surgery. I had the first opp which was supposed to be to remove cysts bt, thats when they found the endo. Is there another kind or wonder if they could repeat the same one over to give some relief until we wanna try b/c I'm not doing the shots again. Well hope to hear back soon.
