Hey all! I'm very happy and relieved to be here. I'm tired of having to become a doctor on my own to assist the idiots that I've seen...so now I'm with the real experts!
At age 46, last June. the unbearable pain began. I immed. went to a Naturopath and had my hormones tested, saliva, etc., and everything came back normal. July and Aug. had me in the ER getting Morphine drips, which barely touched the pain. Aug. I had a laprosc. with a UCLA (Los Angeles) "expert." 16 days later, I was back in the ER, worse than ever. This dr. became angry with me, and refused all pain meds (said I was "dr. shopping") Saw another expert who put me on estrogen -it's truly unbelievable how stupid they are, but I did not know this at the time and had 12 of the worse days of my life...I took it to be a good girl, I guess, even tho 20 minutes on the Internet will show thast excess estrogen is the culprtit...anyway, he did give me Percocet which kept me out of the ER. (Won't refill, though). Then I started Pro-Gest which stopped all symptoms for 3 months, but then the pain came Anyway, I guess I have pretty standard endo. Have now started Prometrium which, please god, seems to be supressing the pain for now. Here are my questions:
1) I had a tubal ligation and a uterine ablation. Could this be the cause?? Retrograde blood in the tubes? My pain is ALL on the left side, radiating down the left leg.
2) Does the pain come only with the cycle, even tho I have no bleeding due to ablation, I guess I still have a cycle. Does the pain come only at this time? Then why do some pain cycles last up to 18 days?
3) Dr.'s want to do a hysterc. When I am weak and in agony I want one, too. Then I get my strnegth back and wonder. I read 2 of 3 have any relief from a full hysterc?? 4) How does one find a dr, that will precribe meds? Why are they so reluctant? I know the FDA changed some laws about opiates and dr.s can't prescribe- I honestly don't know how I'm going to function without them. I am drowning in bills from ER visits. Anyway, thanks SO MUCH for reading and any help/ideas you have are gratefully appreciated!! Melody in LA
