So now my doctor is putting me on this. I have been on it for about a week. The only thing I have noticed is that I do have more energy, but I am not so sure about the upliftment of my mood. I know people use this to quit smoking as well, and I haven't seen a lot of usage for general anxiety, because I am not really too depressed. Sure I do get down some days but not like clincally depressed.

I was put on this for depression before, and I didn't last too long because I ended up being so anxious on it that I couldn't sleep most of the night for several nights in a row.

If Wellbutrin XL is anything like regular Wellbutrin, from what I know, it's one of the oldest anti-depressants out there, I believed developed and used since the 1950's. I've been on several anti-depressants over the years, Paxil, etc., and they all made me feel as if I'd had 18 Frozen Mocha-latte's. Maybe they could give you something to help you sleep if it's okay with the doc. That's what I had to do. Plus they all say it sometimes takes 6-8 weeks for your body to adjust to them. With me on the Paxil, it evened out after a while and I was able to calm down and sleep. Good thing because I wore everyone out. Good luck to you.

I take paxil for the depression, it has helped. I take trazadone to help me sleep. I've tried lexapro had a very bad reaction to it. My doctor told wellbutrin xl or wellbutrin is old and really doesn't help that much. Paxil has helped me calm down and I don't have as many panic attacks. Also think about walking if you can, my doctors states it will help release stress and anxiety. Try meditation, listen to soft and relaxing music. Hope this helps..
