Hi everyone, As I discussed in my intro, I have had menstrual problems and pelvic pain for years, but recently it is becoming unbearable. I have an appt. with a new gyno in June, which is the soonest opening. I went to a gyn last summer and had an ultrasound which showed ovarian cysts, enlarged uterus and the next step was to have a lap or biopsy. (Never got done due to high blood pressure issues and I have since changed insurance coverage, so I have to go to a different dr.) Anyway....for the past few days, I have had really bad "crampy" pain in entire pelvic region, low back pain which is causing me to walk hunched over, and I have started having a vag. discharge that is kind of pinkish. Sorry, I don't mean to sound gross, but it is clear, slimy with flecks of blood in it. I finished my period about 1 week ago. Have any of you experienced these symptoms or know of a possible cause? I can't even call the dr. because I haven't seen her yet, so I am getting a bit concerned. Also, I feel a lot of pressure and bloating in my abdomen (I look about 5 months pregnant, which I am definitely not --- I had tubal ligation 18 years ago and I am 47). Guess I just need some support and a shoulder to lean on! Thanks!

Hi, HI! (Your guest name is listed as HI!) Sorry you are in a lot of pain! First, enlarged uterus can sometimes be due to adenomyosis, which is essentially where the endometrium (lining of the uterus) embeds itself within the uterine wall (endometriosis of the uterine muscle). Discharge w/ blood (even just tinges of blood) can sometimes be due to vaginal infection, which does not necessarily have to be an S.T.D. A bacterial infection can be due to an imbalance of naturally occurring bacteria (bacterial vaginosis). Maybe your gyne. can move your appointment up if you call and say you are having bloody discharge! It's not something to mess with, whatever it is, because if it is bacterial, it can migrate to your tubes and lead to pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Good luck w/ everything! ~Ouchy
