Hi, I have had endo for many years with various symptoms, but I have recently read an article talking about skin rashes, particularly facial, as possibly being a symptom of endometriosis. I have had problems with a red, itchy rash on my face that comes and goes, and this has been going on for years. I have been told by several drs. that it I appear clinically to have Lupus, however, blood tests always come back negative. Just wondering if maybe this is a result of endo??? Have any of you experienced chronic rashes? And have you heard about it being related to endo? If that is what it is, then hopefully I can look forward to also relieving that ailment, as I am likely going to have a hysterectomy this summer. The rash has been so bad at times, that I had blisters all over my face, then they scabbed over -- and I had to get steroid shots from the dermatologist. Anyway, I would appreciate any feedback y'all can give me. Thanks!

I've never heard of skin rashes happening with endometriosis. I have heard that both lupus and excema are more common in people with endometriosis because of the auto-immune connection, but I've never heard of rashes being a symptom of endometriosis itself. My guess is that this is a separate problem.

I cannot be sure, but I think I have also read that endo can be a cause of rashes. I permanently have a mild rash on my stomach. like hundreds of tiny bumps. I thought it was some kind of excema...no idea. thankfully it doesn't itch. That is dreadful about you face. I have had a bad rash on my neck before that itches and burns and scabs and eventually dissapears and then will come again with no reason. But thankfully at da mo. Nothing, just the familiar tummy one.

I haven't really had a rash on my face but I know my face is a lot more sensitive than other areas. Especially around my eyes. Different types of make up makes the area around my eyes and cheeks red and swollen. I dont' know if its due to endo or not but I did hear that endo can make your skin more prone to certain allergies.

I get a rash on the bottom of my leg. It will go away and then come back suddenly. It itches if it gets dry and is very bothersome. I have been told to soak in Aveeno bath with Oatmeal. I was doing that and using the lotion. Didn't help. It just has a mind of its own.

I have had a continuous body rash since December...it started when I got out of the shower, so I guessed it was heat-related. They are red, itchy, like hives and then they go away. I now have it on my stomach, legs, hips and chest and hands - it comes and goes but I am convinced that it's related to my Endo! I have had a ton of allergy tests done, and seen 4 drs. but no one knows.
There must be some kind of connection. Anyone have any thoughts on this?? Cheers.

Aimee, A lot of times heat-related rashes are actually caused by yeast. Common in sweaty places, such as under the breasts, thighs, where the bra goes, etc. Will make red rashes, sometimes w/ bumps, sometimes looking like splotches or even just red rash. Flares up when you sweat or get hot. I get this under my breasts, and I just dust myself with baby powder to stop it. You can even use anti-fungal foot powder for an after-bath and in the morning body powder, as it kills the fungus and keeps you dry. Vinegar baths also help (by restoring pH).
