Okay I have a question & I hope someone can help me!! I am trying to figure out when I am ovulating! I think I am right now and I honestly don't no for sure! In the past I have bought some ovulation kits and everytime I would pee on one in the week it would show 2 pink lines meaning I was ovulating, but you only ovulate 1 day of the month not all week...!! So I have been trying to go my my cervical mucas and about 2 days ago it started getting just like wet and now it looks more like egg white and (not to sounds grose) but Im discharging alot of it right now.. Dont mean to be so in detail but I just want to know if it means I am ovulating because my husband & I are trying to get pregnant!!!

Hi One of the best things is to do is to chart your basal body temperature which is your resting temp first thing when you wake up in the morning, BEFORE doing anything or even getting out of bed. The temp will rise (I think significantly) just after ovulation and this is a very reliable way of telling you when is the pirme time to get pregnant. Go and buy a thermometer! Your pee test is probably noting the week when you are at your most fertile (sperm can live for up to 72 hours) so having lots of sex at this time will increase your chances of getting pregnant. Good luck!

Minnie is so right about charting being a good idea. However, by the time you see the temperature rise, it is likely too late, as the egg is most likely already gone. You ovulate before the temp spike, so it is only a snapshot of when you ovulated, which you won't know for 3 days after the spike (You have to see a sustained temp rise.).
As far as getting a lot of positive OPK's, there are a couple factors that coudl be coming in to play.
1) you're misreading the lines. for a +, the test line has to be equal to or darker than the control line
2) hormone problems. many women with pcos get + results almost every day of the month
3) you're pregnant. you can use OPK's as pregnancy tests. leutenizing hormone and pregnancy hormone are pretty much identical, so the OPK's will detect a pregnancy.
Overall, CERVICAL FLUID is the best way to determine *potential* fertility. If you have fertile mucus, you *might* be fertile.

Thanks for the replies! Well I do have PCOS & Endometriosis. So maybe with the pcos is the reason I am getting the lines. I try to test the week "I should" be ovulating and it always shows up 2 lines that are equal to color. So I was totally thrown off.. Ouchy you said "If I had cervical mucas I might be fertile? So If I am producing the mucas every month that means I have a better chance of being fertile? I really dont no how that works. I seen the posty thing someone had posted about the different mucas. I am doing that. I'll start out just slightly wet & then it will work up to a egg white more thinker. I hope that means I am fertile, my husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 3 years without any sucess. =( I had my surgery about 2 months ago to scrape out all the scar tissue & my endo. So hopefully this means I am ovulating & I get pregnant this month.. There would be no better gift in the WORLD!!!!

Yep, Heather! That's how it works! Basically, the wetter you are, the more likely you are to be fertile. "More likely," because you won't know for sure until you see a temperature rise to confirm ovulation (with the BBT charting). Sounds like you're doing the right thing. And if the OPK's are always showing up + for you, you could always just stick with the mucus. YOu might check the book out from the library or purchase it online, "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. It explains everything you could ever possibly imagine about fertility...and in simple terms. Good luck this month! You'll have to keep us posted! P.S. I'm a PCOS'er, too!
