I had my surgery on Oct. 31st 2007. The dr. said he got rid of all the endo that he could find and done a DNC to get rid of the scar tissue. Also my uturs was tilited backwards and he fixed that. I was just wondering if anyone knew approx. what your chances are of getting pregnant after having all this cleaned up. We have tried for so long its so hard to even think it is really going to happen. I know nothing is impossible, but after so long it just becomes scary. I have a cousin who has endo and she tried for 8 years and never got pregnant... she had to end up having a hystroctmy and I dont want to come to that! Just some sucess stories would be really great

Hi, Latisha! Welcome to the forum. You'll find that no one, even a doctor, can tell you what your chances of getting pregnant are, unless you've had your uterus or both ovaries removed, in which case the chance would be 0%.
Have you tried charting your temperatures and using fertility awareness? Have your cycles always been regular?

Thanks for such a nice welcome When I had my surgery my dr. told me that my tubes and everything else was fine & I shouldn't have any problems getting pregnant! The surgery was this past Oct. and what really scared me was he told me that I should be pain free from my cramping with me periods for atleast 6 months. well I had my 1st period last week since my surgery and it was BAD SOOO.. that really threw me off.. I started thinking that maybe he didn't get as much as he thought he did because of the pain that I was still in. I no that nothing is IMPOSSIBLE, but at times it just gets soo hard just knowing that there is that chance that I'll never get to experience what it feels like to be a mother & thats what I want more than anything in this world.. I have tried a couple months with charting my temps but honestly I don't understand it all. I even heard about checking your cervical fluids but I don't no what means what!!! Yes my cycles are regular every 30 days you can bet my period is here...!

Hi Latisha,
welcome to the board! I have been ttc for 19 months with no luck. My surgeon told me that if he could remove all (most) of the endo then I would have a 50% chance of getting pregnant in the 6 months after the surgery. Unfortunately he wasn't able to remove it as it was worse than he thought, but it sounds like your dr removed a lot of yours then maybe this is closer to your odds. I think these odds were general for anyone having most/all endo removed with otherwise healthy tubes, ovaries, etc.
I can recommend the site 'fertility friend' for helping with charting, etc. There is plenty of info on this site that should help too. As for cervical mucus, basically what you're looking for is when it is see-through and stretchy, like an egg-white. That's when you'll be most fertile and should bd!! There is a lot more detail to it when you get into it, but from what I've read the cm is the key sign and the most straight-forward to interpret.
Good luck!!!

Thanks for the tips about the cervical mucas! I hope you suceed in getting pregnant as well =) My dr. said he got what he could see but for some reason I had just as much pain with me period as I ever did. As far as my overies being okay, the only thing thats wrong with them are I have some cyst on them. I had my surgery on Oct. 31st so I am hoping to get pregnant soon!

Here is a great sticky we have on cervical fluid pictures. I highly recommend the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. Fertility Friend is awesome for charting, like scarlett said!

I did! It's the fertility bible! haha. I don't remember how much I paid? But in the area of $20-$25. I didn't find it too terribly expensive. Well worth it!! I've paid much more for a book that was purely for pleasure reading. But, this comes with a CD and all - so I thought it was def. worth it in the end.
Latisha - hope all goes out as planned. good luck!
