I have been trying conceive for about 3 months w/ no luck yet and I was wondering if there is some kind of fertility pill you can take. I was also wondering how long do you have to try before you can take further measures like ivf or something similar?

Hi, Jenn. Sorry that you're not having any luck so far. It takes one year of active trying to be considered infertile. Are you taking your temperature to see whether or not you are ovulating? You can also use ovulation predictor test strips, cervical position and texture, or the ovulation microscope. You can find more information on these in a search though our threads here on the board. Good luck!

Also, if you think you're not ovulating, you can have your doc. check your LH and FSH hormone levels near the beginning of your cycle. Later in the cycle, your doc. can check your progesterone level to see whether or not you had some kind of ovulatory activity. If you're not ovulating the doc. can give you clomid (You can find a couple threads on clomid on the forum.).

Me too denna. I am trying from last december after my first lap. Still no luck. Got my OPK for the first time this week. So expensive! only 7 OP for $12. Really need to know approximate time. Jenn have u done HSG to make sure how u'r tubes are doing? I did mine two weeks ago. My left tube is swalling. But right tube is fine. Now I am hopping if any way I can improve my left tube....

Hey, monira! We have a thread on cheap OPK's! I get 50 of them at a time for like 17.99!

My husband and I too have been trying for almost a year. This month after being in the hospital for two day with awful cramping my doctor decided to put me on clomid. My doctors started trying Meds on me after only 6 months of trying to conceive because of past problems with the endo. So I think it just depends on your history on whether or not your dr. will perscribe anything yet. I have bought cheap OP online but have felt they are harder to read and I have a hard time determining when I have ovulated. I have found that the best OP are First response. Not the digital ones but they are alot more expensive than the online OP. But for me I am willing to spend more to make sure I can detect my ovulation.

Have you tried charting? Also, cervical mucus consistency is the best predictor of fertility, appaarently, even better than OPK's. I didn't realize that, and now I'm pregnant. lol

I charted for the first 6 months and also checked my discharge signs for ovulation. I now know with in a day or two when I ovulate with out the OP but because of the Meds I am on I need to be using to OP to know the exact day so I can go in for my Progesterone tests. What exactly does progesterone cream help with? I have had a miscarriage and am wondering if that may be something to concider? Congrats on your preganancy Ouchy, is this your first?

Sorry! I never saw your reply! The cream is supposed to help w/ low progesterone/luteal phase defect (luteal phase of less than 10 days). I have had one chemical pregnancy. Baby only stuck around for a few days, then it was gone. So, if this one makes it to term, it will be my first!
