Hello Ladies- Has anyone had a Excision LAPEX? It seems to be the best treatment available. Just looking for some feedback.

Lapex - laparoscopy excision; a surgial technique that removes the entire endo lesion (versus destroying the lesion with ablation, fulguration, or electrocautery). Might check out this Doctor's website, looks like he pioneered the technology. www.endometriosistreatment.org/html/reprints1.html

Wow, that you so much for that website. I never even thought of laps like that before. During my lap they burned/cauterized (sp?) the lesions and everything they found but never once took a biopsy to make sure it was nothing more serious. I never once second guessed my dr.'s work until now. I think my next surgery i will ask to take a biobsy and bring up this procedure.

Yeah, the information on the biopsy part really kind of made me wonder why doctors don't do that. I mean it's not like it would be that difficult to take a few samples before proceeding to destroy the stuff. Also I thought his approach to actually removing the lesion was intriguing. I wonder what his recurrence rate is?

I’ve had two Laps the second was in October 2007. And I’ve quickly gown down hill since. I took three shots of Lupron and then discovered Deep Excision. It makes sense that the entire lesion would need to come out not just the top layers. Check out this video it explains in more detail. youtube.com/watch?v=ISZpfkNHAwU
