This may be addressed somewhere else, but-- I've had three laps, the last one was over 2 years ago. I've been in a lot of pain for quite a while now, and I was wondering if it is risky to do a 4th lap. I am worried about scar tissue, but I am equally worried about how much endo could be in there, just sitting around waiting to form adhesions.
thanks, thebestestem

I've had 2 laps, one with additional excision of my appendix. I also had endo excised during my C-section 3 months ago today.

I have had just the two, one diagnostic, one surgical which was 6 months ago now. Scar tissue is absolutely a worry and it's very hard to decide what to do, risk adhesions and scar tissue or not know what is going on in there... and adhesions growing. Personally, I only want to have surgery when it's absolutely needed, when I'm basically back where I was before my lap in August. Simply because the scar tissue is what worries doctors, what makes them stop and think about surgery even when they think it may be needed. I'm hoping it will be quite while. Best of luck deciding on that, I know it will be hard!

Interestingly enough, I'm in the same spot as my good friend Cherry.
First lap was March of 2005 to diagnose me. My second lap was in July of 2007. I'm having reoccuring pain in my left ovary, as usual. Now I swear I have hypothyroidism because I'm gaining weight on a insulin resistant diet.
Does it seem to anyone else that with each lap something new appears? Or is it just moi?

I had 1 diagnostic lap in June 2006, 1 lap for excision in August 2006, 1 lap to remove part of my bladder because of endo in October 2006.

6 laps since I was 16. I had 1 every 2 years until this past year, and then I had 2 within 2 months. Don't freak out. I thought my new dr knew what she was doing, but she didn't so I went back to my old doc who fixed what she didn't.
