i was just diagnosed this past august, and my doctor did not remove any of the endo. he said it was a diagnostic surgery.....my question is, would i be able to request one and actually have whatever endo is there be burned off? i have been on continual b control since june, and that helped for awhile but now i am having some sort of cramping every day....and i started going to the bathroom a lot more, to where it would start hurting until i used the bathroom. i am afraid it got worse or something, and i don't want to let it just sit there....
any advice?

Hi
I is strange that he didn't take action during the diagnostic lap to remove the problem. Was this something that the surgeon discussed with you prior to the lap? If you are in pain your GP or health care provider needs to refer you again to the gyno and then you should take ti from there. Don't just allow the docs to do nothing, try to make them listen to you. If possible, keep a pain diary to take with you as proof of you pain. Good luck x

Sorry - cultural difference. Here in the UK we have General Practioners i.e. a family doctor who you are assigned and who practices in the local area. Within the National Health Service that we have here, it is your Gp who has to refer you to Gyno's or any other specialist, unless you go privately.

My sugery was diagnostic w/ burning of any endo found. Sorry your doc didn't finish the job, tfaith! I think most doctors take care of the endo at the same time. It depends a lot on the skill of the surgeon. Mine was ready (and did) even do bowel surgery on me at the same time.

My doctor did that tfaith, saw it but left it. He said there were very minute spots though, and he assumed the GnRH injections would 'cure' me. He was an outright idiot though. Did they tell you how much is where? Sometimes they don't feel the need to remove. But in my opinion, they might as well while they're in there! Oh yes my point is further made by the fact that, when I had another op exactly 18 months later under another gynae, these 'cured' 'minute spots' had spread everywhere throughout my abdomen and resulted in a lengthy surgery this time around. I always think 'why not?!'
