had my lap on friday and they found a small amount of endo and three large cysts. they removed it all and just told me to go on the pill and continue with my yoga and all that.
its been two days and im still really sore. the doctors made it sound like id be perfect within two days but the incision right above my girlie area is soo sore it makes it hard to bend or go up stairs or anything.
I was popping my pain killers like candy for the 1st two nights becasue i was so sore. it started to worry me so im only taking them now when i feel really horrible.
I feel better knowhing for sure that I DO have endo...that sounds bad but i waited 7 months for an actually diagnosis so im happy i finally know whats for sure going on.
I also got my period the next day so thats probably helping with my pain. ...i dont know
anyone have any advice for healing?

Hey, I had a lap in July and was advised to take a homoepathic remedy from Ainsworths Homeopathic Pharmacy - maybe you can find equivalent near you? Anyway it is called Surgery 30C (sounds like a bra size!) but actually consists of Arnica, Bellis Perenis, Calendula, Hypericum and Staphisagria. I healed up very quick though one of the wounds got a little infected. I went to the A&E and got cream for that. Just rest and sleep loads, keep the wounds clean, eat healthily and don't do too much too soon as it is an invasive operation, regardless of what the docs say! For the incisions, I am still using Bio-Oil to reduce the scarring and redness twice a day. Hope you feel better soon

The only pain relief i had was painkillers. Morphine nearly killed me I was told it can take 8 weeks to fully recover from the pain by one doc and now my GP tells me it can take up to year to recover..even today i am having pains, nearly 4mths on !!!

It varies for everyone, but my specialist said could take 6mths to fully recover. Hadnt heard the year, but it makes sense.

schernoff, there will be varied recovery times depending on your own capacity for healing and pain and also how much was done/messed around with during surgery. I had endo everywhere and they did excise parts of my peritoneum (membrane of the abdominal cavity) whilst turning the place upside down to get it all out. I lost a fair bit of blood and was in surgery for longer than they expected. I was out walking the day after surgery but it's so easy to over estimate yourself when there are only little scars and you can't see how messy it is in there. I kept knocking myself back cos I thought I was ok. It took me a good 6 weeks to finally feel the benefits of the surgery, and 10 weeks to feel 'healed' so now I feel fantastic. Hope you have felt an improvement and have rested up

thanks everyone, I'm feeling somewhat better. although with working i find if i do too much, I feel ive been hit by a bus and my incision sites hurt still...even though im doin my best to take care of them. the worst one is the lower one...i still cant wear jeans without them sitting on an incision. i hate wearing sweat pants i feel so frumpy but its all i can wear right now. its hard because the place thats healing..you cant see..so i cant tell if im pushing myself untill im in alota pain. its been two weeks tomorrow since the surgery. I'm hoping to see my gyno soon because im having some weird pains that are bothering me.
