Has anyone else out there had a uterine suspension? I had a laparoscopy last month. Endo was removed from my bowel and endometriomas were removed from both ovaries. Because my uterus was tipped and adhered to my bowel by endo, my surgeon did a uterine suspension. I'm very curious to know if anyone else has had this done and what your thoughts, feelings, and opinions are regarding this procedure.

I must correct that previous posting: I had a laparotomy, not a laparoscopy.

I had a uterine suspension at the time of my laparoscopy 18 months ago. My uterus was very tipped (and had been for years, according to multiple gyns). The purpose of the suspension per the surgeon was to get my uterus off my bladder and also to make sex less painful. Apparently, it was in such a position originally that some structured were getting"pinched" during sex Ouch! It did seem to help, although my subjective opinion is that it probably initially caused a lot more pain after the lap than if I had not had it, seeing as how they had to place a lot of sutures in the ligaments and everything felt very "tight" for a while. Now, the gyn says I am still retroverted but barely, sex is very rarely painful and I am overall happy with the outcome.
