Hi Everyone- My surgery was on August 15th this year, 2007. After my 2nd period, I am experiencing some pain in my right side (where the endo was and a 8cm cyst was removed). My doctor said I had very severe endo. He wants me to return for another check-up after my next period.
Is it possible that the endo is returning this quick? thoughts?

Hi, Ellen. Welcome to the forum. No one knows what the pain is from--not even the doctor. Could be scar tissue, could be endo that was missed, could be endo that has re-grown, could be none of the above.
Hope you feel better. Welcome again, and please post an intro in the "Introduce Yourselves" forum.

Hi ellene, I had my op the week before, same thing with severe endo and having some pain returning. I won't see my gynae until April as I'm had a mirena fitted and also am on a GnRH treatment. In all honesty, cos of the pain being right around the incision sites and the fact that my endo is so aggressive, I'm worried it's returned despite the treatment. Please keep us updated

Ellen,
I am right there with you. July 4th I hit the ER with what turned out to be an infection from a leaky ovarian cyst. two weeks later said cyst removed. For the last few weeks I have had twinges on and off on both sides of my abdomin. I'm not sure if I am being a little hypochondriac or if my cyst(s) have returned. I didn't think they could come back that fast, but who knows. I have an appt with my gyn in early Dec. since she has been keeping a close eye on me. I will mention it to her then b/c I do not want a repeat of last time (if it is a cyst). If you are really worried, see your doc. It can only help.

I had my surgery back back in march. I didn't take anything to help prevent it coming back and just after two months had pain again.Went to doctor and had ultra sound and found cysts on both ovaries. I am now on birth control but I know I will be looking forward to another surgery probably early next year since the pain is just increasing each month that goes by :-(.

Hi ellene, Ouchy is right it could be any of the above. After 2 of my laps where I had laser treatment the pain comes back relitivly quickly however after my last lap with excision the pain has taken almost a year to return. Having said that each of us and our endo is individual. Your doctor seems to be doing the right thing by asking you to come back after your next period, I found the best way to 'tackle' my endo is to have a good doctor who is prepared to spend time with you and understanding your individual circumstances because each 'case' is different
