I have my first lap and found out on my pre op assessment that I am having a hysteroscopy as well. This is what the nurse told me. I wont get to see the doctor until I go in. He has put me down for a coil even though I said I wasnt sure and he hasnt mentioned my cyst at all. This doesnt fill me with confidence. I am scared that they wont find any endometriosis because that will mean I will have to carry on as I am. I have has so much time off that I know if I dont get sorted out soon I will have to stop

Hi Charlie I was told I wouldn't see the doc cos I came in after he had done rounds and seen the patients, but when I told them I was not having the mirena, a doctor was sent in to see me and ask why. I still refused. If they still put it in after you've refused, you have grounds for a law suit. Be very vocal about it if they insist. It's your body after all! I have one now, but I would have been pretty miserable haivng one after my op, as the cramps on top of being sore would have been too much!

The good thing is I havent signed a consent form yet and will not be signing one until I have spoken to the doctor properly about what he is intending to do.

Good for you, charlie! And, if he is still adamant about ignoring your wishes, find someone else to do the lap! Doctors with too much artistic license are a VERY bad thing--take it from me!

Hi
My gynae put down on my surgery sheet for me to have a mirena coil even though I sadi a very firm no. Make sure you get things clear between yourselves and them about exactly what is happening and don't let them force their idea's of what is best for you onto you!
