OK -- I will! ;D I feel so bad today -- between the bad pain - it gets so much worse while ovulating -- I caught a cold from a gal here at work! I think I'm going to rant about that too!!!! If this screws up my surgery schedule -- I am going to be livid!!!

Awe yucky!! theres nothing worse than being commonly sick on top of everything else!!
This may be a silly question, but when you ovulate it only through 1 ovary right? and it switches between the 2 everymonth? If you have the 1 removed, will you still ovulate every month or every other month?

Hey! I asked the same question!!! My dr said that after a little time, the remaining ovary picks up for the missing one & will ovulate every month! I think she said it might take a couple months. I was thinking the same -- that maybe I wouldn't have a period except every other month...but no! But for ttc....that's great news -- huh?

OK -- had my marathon pre-op yesterday! Possibly some bad news about the ovary though. Had another trans vaginal ultrasound and man, that poor tech had to totally contort the wand to find my right ovary...I swear it was in there sideways ----- EEEEK! Anyway....there's now a cyst on it (no wonder the pain seemed worse), but removing it may be a problem. From what she can tell -- it appears the ovary might be bound up & right on top of my ureter and the major blood vessel that goes into your leg. Sigh. Depending on how bad the adhesions/endo are binding it to the stomach wall....she doesn't want to risk cutting the ureter or blood vessel just to get it out. She's going to try her best...but it may not be an option. Now -- she did say that she could be wrong since it was so hard to locate with the ultrasound & you can't tell the density of whatever is tying it up -- but she wanted to prepare me. Since the big cut isn't really an option for me right now, she said she would do everything she could & if I needed a big cut for anything she found, she would sew me up & send me home, and either refer me to an oncologist or urology surgeon or gastro surgeon or we would plan for the big cut. The main problem I have with the big cut is that the recovery part would be very difficult for me. My bf is working on the other side of the state & can't just take a few weeks off to help me out so they would have to get insurance to pay for a nurse...etc. That's the biggest downside to moving alot....every new place, you hafta make friends, etc. all over again. I'm pretty bummed out about it and can only hope for the best. Keep your fingers crossed for me!!!!!!! Hey Angela -- did you get to talk about removing your ovary or only part of it cus of the mean ol cyst??? Put it on your list girl!

During my first TV ultrasound for my first lap, the tech couldn't even find one of my ovaries! I jsut KNEW it was because it was all tacked some place it shouldn't bc of the endo...but during the lap, my ovaries and tubes were fine! I have no idea why she couldn't find it!

Ya that does seem kinda weird! Now that I think of it, that wand was pretty much up and sideways for me too!! I always thought it was because ovaries are supposed to be far apart!! I did have a chance to talk to my surgeon about the removal of the cyst and she reassured me that she should be able to remove that cyst and all its contents without damaging the ovary. The only question we have is whether the ovary is already damaged or even dead. Thats something we won't know forsure until she gets in there. I'm so lucky that I don't have to worry about things like insurance and all that crap!!! I'm going to tell her that if she has to do the big cut then DO IT!!!!!!!! Man if it makes it easier to see and do then DO IT!!!!!!!!! Remind me to add that to my list too Karen! HA!! You and I are going to have to go through all our posts to find all the reminders! hahaha!

OK -- it's on the list!!! I had a ct scan a couple of weeks ago to make sure there's nothing else weird going on in there that the surgeon should know about. She said the cyst was there for that scan -- but she was hoping it had disappeared. I guess it also showed that right ovary wedged pretty good up against the stomach wall. From how badly it's hurting today, I would think it's trying to break free!!!!
She did mention that there were some other things she wanted to investigate....I didn't even want to know so I told her not to tell me unless something was bad. I am just so nervous now that I don't want to worry about anything else!
I am so hoping that the endo isn't so bad...but my dr did say that she would be spending some time removing endo. I know it doesn't show up on ultrasounds but am not sure if it shows up on ct's. I didn't think so -- but maybe she can tell from other stuff.

I think it was there 3 weeks ago -- it look like just a boring ol functional cyst -- which SHOULD go away on it's own -- but she's going to try & get at just in case! No -- not the funky "chocolate" one like you have......oh great, now I'm STARVING for chocolate!!!!

ahhahaaaa!! I never really thought of mine as funky! but I guess it kinda is! determined in its own way to grow and bleed!! Thats why I have a hard time thinking that the ovary its on and around wouldn't be damaged!!
I had one of those caramilk easter eggs today - I could have eaten 12.
