Hi there -
As I posted in the introduction thread, I am a long-time endometriosis sufferer whose doctor has recently recommended an endometrial ablation. I'm only 28, and she's not too keen on performing a hysterectomy on me at this point, but from what I've heard about endometrial ablations I'm wondering if there's any point. All the women and friends of women I've heard of that have had one have had little or no success whatsoever.
Has anyone heard of good, long-lasting results from ablation? Does anyone have any advice or recommendations? If I do have the ablation, should I ask for a lap to be done at the same time?

She would use a heat-generating roller-ball tool to vaporize the lining of the uterus.
I'd be sterile afterward, same as a hysterectomy. I know hysterectomy isn't a cure-all, so obviously neither would this...since that's the case, is it really worth it to lose my fertility for something that more than likely won't work?

If fertility is an issue to you, I'd say definitely NOT to do the procedure!

crikey,i didnt think it was that radical, isnt there a procedure where they laser the lining/endometrium.that is meant to help with fertility.
