Well, I had my follow up appointment from my lap on the 14th. It was a mixture of good and bad news. Overall, I'm very confused. The lap was inconclusive. I had severe swelling and irritation inside so I was given a very strong anti-biotic to take care of what the Dr. thought might be an infection. The Dr. told me that she really doesn't know what caused this. She thought that it might be endo causing the swelling but because I was so swollen she couldn't get around some areas. On the bright side, it might not be endo there, but just a strange infection. For this, she booked me for an MRI to make sure the swelling is gone. Now, the bad news is that in one of the areas she couldn't explore well is my right overy. This is "stuck" to the wall of my uterous. It doesn't shift up as it should. Hence the pain with intercourse. So I've been told. She couldn't get into the area as well as she wanted to. This she is also hoping will show on the MRI. Again, on the bright side, she did a dye test of some sort while I was under and found that both my tubes are open and functional so I should be able to have children. Also, all of my hormone and bloodwork tests came back good. So, really it's the stuck overy thats my main concern and the mystery swelling my secondary concern. My biggest bit of confusion comes from sex though. My husband and I didn't try right away. I was nervous and scared. But, when I did get the nerve to try, I found it less painfull. The abdomen pain is minimal. Is this normal after a lap? I still feel pain and burning but not like I did before surgery. I don't know what to think. Mind over matter?

Mind over matter? I think our mind has a lot to do with how we feel and so if it is telling you something positive - great! Well, let's put it this way - it should be better as you had surgery to make whatever it is better. maybe your antibiotics are working too and the inflammation is being reduced.
i had surgery on november 23 for the first time and tried sex again for the first time on christmas eve with hubby. It was actually pretty good although i was nervous too! I have endo on the bowel and am recovering from having a retroverted/ stuck uterus from the endo. also on my right ovary and goodness knows where else. I think the pain factor depends very much on where you have/ had the endo and if i can have good sex with so much endo, i don't see why you shouldn't!!
I have to say my pain level hasn't changed much, because I'd already started to feel better before the surgery because of my diet.... as you say, it's really hard to tell though, and maybe you should give it a couple of cycles before making any snap judgements. It's also hard to judge because pain is so subjective, and if you have had chronic pelvic pain for years, it's hard to know what feels normal...
Keep us posted!

I had a similar experience. I had a laparoscopy on Dec. 1 (diagnosed Stage 4 endo), and my left ovary still won't move. I also had a PAP smear about a week ago and one of my OBGYNs said she couldn't move my ovary at all (manual exam), and my uterus is so tipped that it was hard for her to find and then see my cervix, and when she did, she had to angle the brushes for the PAP really far to the left.
I've had a LOT of pain since the surgery, mostly on my left side but some on my right... And every time I pee I feel a lot of pressure and pain. It feels almost like a bladder infection, but I've had two UAs and been on antibiotics, and my last UA was fine, but my pain is still there. Bowel movements also hurt (pressure), but not quite as bad as urinating.
Because of all that, I was nervous about sex, but it actually didn't hurt too bad (the PAP hurt more). My husband and I tried about 25 days after my surgery, and oddly, it hurt the worst afterwards instead of during.
