Ok, I know that is a weird subject title...
What I'm trying to ask is....if anyone out there has had a C-Section AND Lap/Hyst.....was one worse than the other? I've had 3 C's and feel that neither the Lap nor the Hyst could be worse than that...but...I've never had Lap so I could be in for a surprise.
Those who have had both - can you sum up any comparison (if there is one)? TIA DN

I've had a c-section and a laparoscopy. However, both of these are different for everyone.
My c-section was because my baby was breech, there was very little done others than cut open, scoop out baby, clean up, and close. I was up with little to no pain 2 days later. I know the more they do in there the worse it is. My sister had a c-section due placenta abruptia and her the baby almost died, it was awful and 8 weeks later she was till in pain to move. So from the people I've talked with the more intervention they do during a c-sec (like touching organs and such) the worse the aftermath.
As for my lap 2 weeks later I felt like I"d been hit by a truck and it was still dragging me down the street. I dont' regret doing it as its brought me 1+ years of pain free days. I'm just being honest, the recovery was awful. They burned endo out all over. He also tried to get my ovary off of my colon. Again I think more touching, burning off, messing around=worse recovery.
So in conclusion I think if you had a rough c-section then the lap will be a walk in the park. If you are one of the lucky ones like I was that couldn't figure out what the big deal with a c-section was then the lap will probably be worse.
Good Luck.
edited to add (based on other post): I didnt' take pain meds after my c-section since I was nursing and really didn't feel that bad. I took a ton of pain meds after my lap and still felt like a truck had run over me.

i had an emergency c-section and it was not at all what i expected...i mean i was in pain but, moving around pretty well a couple days after ...def. not as bad as everyone made it to be. the lap. wasn't bad at all...the worst part was the gas pain in my shoulders from the surgery but, i don't remember being too bad just a little discomfort. The main thing i did w/ both was take my pain meds. every 4 to 6 hours or whatever it was and all in all they weren't as bad as my gullbladder surgery but, evreyone is different. So good luck! hope all goes well:)
