I am having last minute concerns (having laparoscopy tomarrow)...... Is there anyone out there that has had multiple Laps -- one being negative and the next showing Endo ?
I had a lap in 1998 which was negative I have tubes tied in 2003 -- showed no signs of Endo according to doctor (although not specifically looking for it) Having Lap tomorrow
Yep - been that long that I have been trying to get an answer to my pelvic pain !! Much worse pain in the last 3 months than ever before though. I guess my question here is could the endo have been unable to be seen 3 years ago during tubal but still have been there ? How fast can it multiply (if it is there) -- ?
Anyone else had this happen ? neg result but still end up having endo ?
Thanks for all of your support !

Hi, Debi! That is entirely possible! Endo is known to go into "remission" for periods of time. Also, depending on the time of your cycle, the implants can shrink/grow.
A lot of endo is also microscopic, so during your tubal ligation, there is a chance that the doc. didn't see it, especially if he wasn't specifically looking for it.
I was apprehensive before my last lap (In October 2005), and I almost didn't go through with it. I was even in the gown and awaiting transfer to the pre-surgery "holding area," when I decided I didn't want to go through with it, but my husband told me that I really should. He had a feeling that I needed to. I'm glad that I did, because my intestines and colon and appendix were all twisted in weird ways and glued to places they should not be glued due to the endo.
The ultimate decision is up to you, but if you are having a lot of pain--who knows, the doc. may find something in there other than endo! You can see a lot accidentally w/ a lap!
Good luck with whatever you decide. Let us know how it goes!
