I had my 1st surgery when I was 14 in 1990 then I had one in 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2003, 2004, 2004, 2005, 2006 finally everything is out.. It has been tough these past few years. But it is true that every time you have surgery the endo grows.. I would try to wait as long as you can.. Good luck

Re-posting this:
It's been two years since my first (and only) lap. I've said before I do not want to get on the cycle of surgery/treatment, but I'm becoming slightly concerned. I know that the rate in the way Endo progresses differs in every women, however, I'm worried that in two years my Endo has gotten worse.
A lot of you know I've been trying to decide what to do next. I came off an incredibly high dose of BC because of a fear of blood clots and the horrid way it made me feel. After three months of unbearable pain that got worse with every 28 days, and an entire bottle of Naproxen, I went back on a lower dose of BC for my sanity. Obviously, with the pain I am in the Endo is back, but how far worse off from before I'm not too sure.
There are different symptoms this time, specifially with my bladder and colon. Those two entities right there worry me 10 fold, and I hate not being able to just know! I get intense amount of pressure in my pelvis, almost like the feeling right before you get your period but worse.
My specialist now would rather put me on Lupron than go in and see what the deal is. I don't want to do anything irrational in fear that I'll go in for surgery and everything will be fine, or worse - completely destroyed.
Two years ago I was what my doctor said a "severe stage 2"...Now, I have no idea.

Hey Tess! This is just me - but I would get in for a second opinion pronto! My specialist said the exact same thing to me about the Lupron. I told him to forget it. I wasn't about to start taking medine to 'maybe' deal with what I 'might' have. I finally convinced him to do a vaginal ultrasound and there it all was! bright as the sun! Needless to say he booked me for my lap right away.
I know you really don't want to get into the cycle of having surgery like some of us, but you have to trust me when I tell you that its better than wondering what damage is being done to vital organs!! Not to mention the other illnesses and ailments that go along with it all!
For me, 1 year out of 4 of being comfortable and reletivley pain free is worth it to have the surgery....

That's the thing - my ultrasounds are fine. Ovaries are a normal size (which is...amazing), and my utuers is fine as well, thank goodness! But the pain...it's just, weird.

But you've heard that ultrasounds do a poor job of finding endo right?

Oh, yessss. I guess I would just assume that since my uterus and ovaries look okay that I must be fine. Maybe it's denial?

I'm researching Drs in Orlando now. I've found a Infertility Centre that maybe of some help. We shall se. I'm standing at work right now and was in the middle of talking to a customer when a wave of pain totally caught me off guard! Ugh. The life we lead.

And that is just more reason for you to get your butt into see a specialist missy! HAAHHAA! I only push it cause I don't want to see you get to where I'm at because of what you didn't want to do to take care of it. Trust me, you will feel so much better in the end! Keep us posted on what you find!!
