Hiya,
I had my first lap in 2004 where they missed the endo and just cleared up a burst cyst and my second in Feb 06.
I have been back to my doc who has referred me back to my gyne, who thinks they might want to perform another lap.
It seems very soon to me, although the pain has returned.
How long has it been in between any of your laps?
Thanks!

I had mine Oct '05 and we are talking about another one, I'm waiting a month to make sure the antibiotics don't fix pain as he isn't sure what is going on, he said if it didn't go away he'd go look again.

I had my first
Laprotomy Jan 30/06
second Laprotomy March 22/06
And just found out Monday that I will go for Laproscopy/Laser Surgery Sometime in November,
My next appointment is October 31 - that is when we will schedule it. Had MRI couple weeks ago shows the endo came back even after that short time. So in November I will go to have it cleaned up and then they can send me to invirto to get pregnant...I can't wait to get pregnant only, not all the other stupid stuff that goes with it.
Guess it is all about how fast your endo grow.

I have surgeries 9 months between each other. I think it is to soon but when your in pain you will do anything to get out of pain. When I 1st started getting surgeries it was 2 yrs apart then it when a 1yr now it is 9 months. And now I could get another and it only has been 5 months. But remember every time you have surgery it makes the endo grow. Something in the IV makes the endo grow and there are other thingd that make it grow too. So I would use your best judgment on when you feel its to soon. Good luck.

I don't think that the surgery itself causes the endo to grow--if this were true, then for every woman endo would be worse every successive lap (Mine was better upon second lap.), and to my knowledge, I really don't think that "something in the IV makes the endo grow." ...Can you post any studies on this?

i am going for invitro because they took the one ovary and falopian tube out because of endo/cancer and when they did further tests after that surgery my other falopian tube was swallen and I had cysts on my other ovary as well, so my doctor says that it is time sensitive. You can read my intro under "new here need someone to talk to.

Over the past six years I have had six laps, one ovary/tube removal, hysterectomy, and am now in the process of getting ready for another lap....I know that is not much consultation but it is the truth....

I had my first lap on 06/28/2006, second lap on 08/18/2006, and my last and final lap will be on 10/19/2006. You can read the specifics about them under 'introduce yourselves'. They tried to get me to go in on 09/12/2006 for my final lap but I told them it was too soon - I would really have liked to go in November for my final one but they said I can't wait that long.

Well I will be going in for my ninth surgery on Friday....This is really getting old and frustrating...The doc has taken me off hormones...You can imagine how that has been....I have been HOT and going through h*e*l*l...It is really a good thing that my fiance loves me....HA HA HA....Anyway please keep your fingers crossed for me this time that things work out....They are going to take my appendix too....This should be interesting...They said that I should be able to go home the same day....I AM SCARED!

9, andie!!! Holy cow! EEEK! You poor thing! I hope it goes well. I had my appendix out during my last lap, too. My appendix was really "glued" crazily with all of the endo. The surgeon almost couldn't remove it laparoscopically, but at the last minute, he finally was able. I had 2 surgeons, one for the appendectomy and one for the general endometriosis. Good luck!

Hi Denna, I had the March surgery because they discovered when they went in the first time that I had Ovarian Cancer/Endo. And Becasue they weren't looking for cancer the first time they had to go bad in and make sure it was all gone. But they found endo all over every where. A few months later all my symptoms were coming back so I went back to the docs he did an MRI to find out that endo is back again. So in Canada you usually have to wait 1 year before they do invitro but in my case with my history I only have to wait 6 months well 6 months is Oct. my appointment is Oct. 31 and they will make me an apppontment for a laproscopy/laser to prepare me for the invitro. 3 Surgeries in one years seems very extreme but I want kids soo very bad. And no I didn't want to have them now AI wanted to wait but when you are given an altimatum you make a desision and I want kids! While I'm on the topic my endo seems to be getting really bad these days. i'm getting really bad back pain and I am very bloated all the time. I actually weirdly enough look forward to surgery so I will feel normal for a week or so.
