Shortieblatt - I use reliefinsite.com to track symptoms. You can print out a nice little report to give to your doc and say 'see? I told you so!' Just a thought, in case you're as anal retentive as I am!

Thank you for the site. I will look at it. I actually started a log of my symptoms today. Exceptally (i know i spelled that wrong) after today d/t to pain I took my pain meds and bc pill at the same time after i ate. And I got very sick vomiting, weak, shakey, and blurry vision. I made it through 2 classes today and had to leave. At 8:30 tonight I was finally able to keep liquids down. I am going to get ahold of my doctor and find out if he will change my meds.

well... a little update.... pain still as bas as it was but i will not go to an ER where i live unless i have to. after working on an ambulance for 3 years and going in myself to the er's. they dont do much of anything. and the er doctor's around here are stupid and refuse to really do any looking into anything. you say you have endo and they stop and go "well this is something that you have to live with if pain stays this way talk to your gyn on monday".... they are lazy so since i know what they are going to say.... unless the pain and weakness gets to the point that i cant move around or cant stop sleeping then to the er i will go. but as of right now i think i can make it to monday to see the doctor. cause then i will talk to him about my depression and going to see a doc for it. oooohh ouch! I know that this post is old but I feel the need to defend the ER. First I will say, if you are in severe pain then yes you absolutely 100% have the right to go to the ER for pain control. But ER people being lazy? I think that's a little harsh. The ER is designed to treat life threatening illness and injury. We do not do time consuming diagnostic procedures unless it's life threatening. At most, they will rule out a life threatening condition associated with abdominal pain and if it's negative they will tell you to follow up with your regular doctor. People come in having heart attacks, car accidents, strokes, kidney failure, diabetic emergencies.... you name it. This is why the ER can't spend so much time searching, treating, and diagnosing conditions that can wait until a doctor's appointment. This is not to discourage you from using the ER if necessary because abdominal pain is a symptom that can come with many different conditions and emergencies. Even if you have endometriosis, abdominal pain can still indicate a serious problem and you shouldn't ignore it nor should a doctor ignore it. I just felt a little pull on my heart strings when you said the ER is lazy because I've invested a lot of my life into emergency medicine to be called lazy. I've put a lot of my own blood, sweat, and tears into my patients; literally I have given my blood to people. I hope I'm not coming off as a total biotch. I understand what its like to be in your shoes. I know how it all feels to see doctors that don't care. I also think that Karen (olsenka) gave you awesome advice to track your symptoms.

Jenaya, no you didnt come off as a biotch. And yes ER personnel put a lot of time into emergency medicine but the people that work in the ER's around here suck and don't want to do anything they don't have to. I have never seen ER's treat patients so badly as they do around here. I have lived other places and the ER staff was much better.
I also understand and know that ER's are not designed to do alot of diagnostic procedures due to people coming in from car wreck, heart attacks, strokes, and so forth. But only doing 1 test and it being a urine test and it stated only a start of a UTI and send me home. I believe that is stupid I have had many UTI's and if I thought it was that I wouldn't have went. Due to that could have waited and seen my regular doctor to treat. Now the last time I went to the ER the doctor was very nice and treated me very well. And did testing to check my appendix and thank goodness it was okay.
I am glad we have ER staff putting their heart into their patients but the staff in the 2 hospitals around here don't. Like I said before I am not calling ALL ER staff memebers lazy. I am talking about the ones I know and dealt with on a daily bases. That is all I am sorry if I came across mean or disresceptful (spelled wrong not good at spelling) cause I am not trying to be.
Yeah I was told for 2 1/2 years that nothing was wrong with me and that it was all in my head. I was so happy to find out that I wasn't crazy and it wasn't in my head. I am just now wishing my bc pills will finally get worked out to the right one for me. Cause this pill is not it. I have been bleeding 12 out of 14 days of being on it and in pain 12 out of 14 days. I am calling the doctor's office on Monday about the pill also. I do agree Karen gave me some great advice and I have been using the website she suggested also.

Hey I'm sorry. I really hope I wasn't coming off as a biotch. I think it's so sad that there are ER's that treat people so badly. I'm sorry about that.
I wonder why you're bleeding so much. I hope your doctors can help you.

Thanks and it is really okay. But you are right it is sad that ER's are treating people so badly.
I don't know why I am bleeding so much I am hoping my doctor can help or at least change my meds. I don't like it I have had to switch from tampons to pad due to the pain. (so if it is TMI) I am just wondering if anyone else has had to do that due to pelvic pain.

Today, I have been in some really bad pain but thank goodness able to make it through to get home and then started vomiting and unable to keep anything down. I am thinking it is from my pain meds Darvocet I didn't have much food on my stomach but took it anyways at school. I have done really nothing but sleep and have a heating pad on my right ovary. Which feels like it is trying to kill me. Sorry I don't handle pain very well at all.

I have a question regarding ackcheryl's posting. I've been in pain for years, I have just about every symptom of endo except painful sex (orgasims are also a temporary fix to the pain, amazing these days what I am finding helps temporarily) ... anyway, back to the main question ... I have been finally diagnosed with having endo without a lap (also cysts on my ovaries and a small fibroid) I'm in beginning stages of treatment options. I have been on a just progesterone birth control pill for almost 2 months and I am in extreme pain for most of the month. It used to be 5 - 12 days a month I'd be in pain leading up to my periods. Well, ever since they put me on this just progesterone bc pill it has thrown my body into that mode all the time instead of just 5-12 days a month! It is crazy. So, and I pray I get an answer from someone!!!! Are you saying give it a chance? I so want it to work. I am going on 43 years old, a traditional estrogen progesterone bc pill is risky for me, I am having trouble quitting smoking. I tried successfully for 7 weeks and went back to smoking because of pelvic pain stress and finals at school (finishing a degree) I know poor excuses. Anyway, I hope I get some answers.
