After going to the doctors last week I also went and had an ultrasound done b/c I had cysts before and that is why I had surgery in the first place but, found out it was Endo. not my cysts. The person who did the ultrasound said I definitely have one on my right ovary. I was just wondering if it would cause the same pain as the Endo. does? I just don't feel like that is the problem. Also has anyone ever experienced pain in your hips and butt that feels like you are being pulled apart and it hurts when you walk?

Hey Jenn, funny you should mention the pain in your hips and lower back...I get very wierd hip pain and today I've had pain on my lower back...excuse my ignorance but there are two pelvic bones on either side of the spine, my right hand side just below that has been dreadful today. I've often had to freeze wher I was until it passed to a reasonable pain. Every step I took today sent the pain shooting inside! So yes I think endo can give you that kind of pain. cycst and endo pain, i'm not so sure about. I know a few ladies who have had cycsts and they have described them as excrutiating at times...don't know if this helps

Hiya Jenn,
I think that the cysts would cause a similar pain as you endo sufferers can also get what is called 'chocolate cysts'. I have my first lap in 04 for a cyst and then had my endo diagnosed this year after my 2nd lap. The pain is no different and so I think that the endo was always there and the cyst was all to do with the endo. That probably doesn't help but I just thought I would share my experiance.

Hi, Jenn. Sorry you are in so much pain! Do you have endometriotic cysts or ovarian cysts (PCOS)? I know that the symptoms of ovarian cysts are also quite similar to endometriosis pain-wise. Also, pain in the legs/hips is common with endoemtriosis, because one of the most common places for endometriosis is on the utero-sacral ligaments (ligaments that run behind the cervix). When the utero-sacral ligaments are affected, nearby nerves are triggered, causing pain that radiates to other places, such as the hips. Here is a good article that I posted on this very subject in another thread titled, "Leg Pain."
