This may seem strange, I've read about endo pain in the hips and legs and that the potencial is there for the cells to spread throughout the body. But this is my question. I often have chest pains and was wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this in relation to endo. I do have a slight perferation in my heart and get pulpatations but the docs reckon that that should not cause any discomfort whatsoever. I know that sometimes pain is reflected in the body, maybe the pain in my chest is reflected stomach pain? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Lauren -- yes, I also have heard about the pain in legs and hips, and I have just recently started having pain in those areas, also buttocks. You are not alone with the chest area pain, either. During my period, when I am having the worst of my pain, I often have very sharp stabbing pains in my left shoulder and it's sometimes felt in my chest. I've heard about the cells may be transported to other areas of the body, but it also might be "referred" pain just coming from nerves. Just wanted to let you know that it's not "in your head"!

Actually, I have heard of peeople getting endometriosis in their lungs. It's uncommon, but from what I've read it does not usually cause the person any trouble breathing (as you would think it would), but it does cause pain in the lung area. I have no idea what they do about it though--seems like it'd be pretty hard to remove!

Thanks ladies, I'm glad to know that I am not alone with the chest pain thing. You know when you just never have been able to explain a certain something. I rather be able to put things down to something and then deal with it from there. I really doubt I have endo in my lungs, mainly because I would not know how to deal with that. Glad you said it doesn't affect one's breathing...you imagine it would though. I mean liquid on the lung is very bad. Anyways thank you so much for your input!

Hi lauren, lately I have had a fair bit of pain when breathing out and what I think feels like appendix pain. After what I've read I suspect this is the spread of my endo, which now possibly on my diaphragm

I too have had chest pain, it felt so wierd and I just didn't knwo what to do with it, took endless antacids but it did nothing! It's funny how if you just put a name to what the pain is it kind of doesn't bother you as much (By the way lilyloves I'm in Liverpoool too ;D )

One nurse I had took my endo pain seriously. She used to be an e.r. doctor, and she told me that every month like clockwork a lady would come in w/ severe chest pain and unable to properly breathe. They found she presented with pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Finally, after about 5 months they took her in for emergency exploratory surgery to find out what was going wrong and what was causing her lung to collapse--they found endo on her lungs. Every month when the endo would bleed, this would cause a hole in her lung, causing her lung to collapse! Eeek!
