Hey! 👋 Decided to reach out. I am 37 years old, and have had painful irregular periods my whole bleeding life. The first mention of endo was when I was 19, and passed out due to period pain. This has happened about once or twice a year since then, resulting in either a fun ambulance ride or a visit to the ER on my own. They never get to the bottom of what's happening, or why it is so painful. At 28 I was diagnosed with PCOS as well. My family has always had "lady issues", my mom having a hysterectomy at 28 years old, and my aunts and cousins have similar issues. It's very frustrating to be in pain almost every day, and people don't understand, or think you are exaggerating. It's frustrating to miss work, it's frustrating to have to explain why I look like I might pass out every month. It's profoundly frustrating to have doctors wave you away like the pain isn't real. I have not had any surgical intervention, and have declined meds like BC and Lupron, wanting to focus more on holistic healing. What brought me here at this time is my current situation dealing with pain, shooting pain from uterus through rectum. It wasn't even during my period, but had me doubled over. This was 2/12, and the pain has since become more dull but radiating through left side. I also cannot empty my bladder completely and have painful BMs. Sorry for the TMI! 😂 It does make me feel crazy though, like no one understands. I hope to learn some ways to cope here. Thanks for reading. 💗
