Good evening. This is my first day here and I am very excited.
My name is Beth, Crow is one of my dogs. I was diagnosed with PCOS 8 years ago. About 2 years ago, I began having sharp pains before and during my cycle. My first OBGYN that I went to said he believed I had endometriosis but didn't think I would need surgery and sent me on home. Told me to take ibuprofen. I began doing research and realized there was way more to the disease than just ibuprofen. I felt like that doctor only wanted to treat me if I was trying to conceive. So I looked for another.
Last winter, I went to a new OBGYN. She is supposed to specialize in Endometriosis and so far has been better. She doesn't want to do surgery until its very hard to handle the pain but has been willing to talk me through it all. 7 months ago, I had rectal bleeding. It stopped after 2 days, so I didn't worry about it. Fast forward to last week and it began again. After 2 days it stopped. I went to my general doctor and she did a look and found nothing low so sent me to a GI specialist. I went to him today and he has scheduled a flexible colonoscopy. I had e-mailed my OBGYN and she wants me to come in and look at surgery at this time.
I will make a separate post about my questions but wanted to say hi!!

Hi crowbaby, and welcome!
Ironically, I am writing the post from my hospital room, the morning after having my second lap. It sounds like we have a lot of symptoms in common. I too have rectal bleeding for a day or 2 a month and had a colonoscopy less than 2 weeks ago to see if endo had gotten through my bowel. Luckily for me, my colon was clean and without constriction so I didn't need a bowel resection. Yesterday during (robotic) surgery, he found a lot of endo on my bowel, along with a bunch of other things. He's fairly certain that I have PCOS and should have blood work back on that soon. I hope that your lap and colonoscopy give you answers, and just know that someone knows what you're going through!

She wants to wait until After the colonoscopy to see me. Hopefully they figure something out and it isn't going to make things worse. :/
