I had a laparoscopy yesterday. My last one was about 4-5 years ago so I can't remember much about it. I'm having severe pain from the incision in my belly button. The other incisions aren't really bothering me, but that one has been hurting non stop. Do any of y'all remember that happening to you? Also my stomach still looks like I am 6 months pregnant. How long until the swelling goes down? I was told that they found endo in my uterus (adenomyosis) and quite a bit of endo adhesions attached to other organs so it couldn't be removed so I don't know if the procedure even really did much good besides answering some questions. I was told that removing my uterus would not do anything to alleviate the issue and the next course of action is to do 6 months of Lupron....does anyone have any similar stories or advice? Thanks

Hello, first off, I'm sorry you're having the pain in your belly button. I also had a lot of pain with my incision there with both of my laps. I found that the less bandaging I had on the site the better it felt. As far as the stomach goes, a lot of that is probably from the gas used in the surgery. I know it isn't the most pleasant thing to do but the more you walk the faster you will be able to pass the gas and reduce the swelling. It usually takes a couple of days. I am a surgical tech so I have to preach this all the time with my patients and have experienced it quite a bit myself. So sorry to hear that you feel your surgery may not have done a lot of good. I wish you the best of luck with your recovery and in the future.
