Hi everyone! Had been suffering for over a year with major pain, ended up in hospital emerg twice and they couldn't figure it out...cat scans, ultrasounds, nothing. Had a bunch of specialists and a great family doctor who just kept trying to find the answer. Finally got sent to a Gyno who decide to do a lap in order to check if there was anything - actually thought that he wouldn't find endo, but he did the surgery anyway. But, he found a ton of pinhead sized endo everywhere inside, had to leave a bunch behind because it was on my ureter and if he tried to remove could shut down my kidneys. Like others I had tried the special diets, no meat, no cheese in order to help with the pain and cramping. Felt fantastic after the surgery, but hit 6 months and cramps started again and pain....booked another appt and am on my third day of Visanne now. Really hoping for the best! So glad to have this board and people to talk to about it all. I live in the Vancouver area so if there are others please let me know, would love to hear your stories and if anyone took Visanne, the outcomes.

Hello and welcome! I really hope you have some luck with the Visanne. If you want to read about other women's experience taking Visanne, we have an entire thread on it: endo-resolved.proboards.com/thread/5231/visanneDon't let it discourage you if you see that some women had bad experiences. We're all different and we all react to medications differently. I'm sure there are many women who have success!

Thanks Jenaya! I (knock on wood) seem to have had good experiences with hormones before, day 4 of Visanne and really liking it so far. It was actually the Visanne thread that made me join this board - was reading up on experiences!

Welcome! I haven't been on visanne, so can't offer any advice on it. You just need to try what works best for you. I hope you do well on it!

Oh that's awesome! I'm really glad to hear it's working out so far. Have you had good support from family/friends?

My family is far away from where we live, but my husband has been great, especially through the pain - can't tell you how many times he's heated up my magic bag for me *lol* He's a bit worried about having children and how the endo will effect that or our chances of having them....my best friend is male, so it's hard to discuss with him. A lot of others don't know what it is or what I go through, but I'm trying to educate them.
