Hi ladies,
My family might be able to help with the cost of surgery out-of-pocket, rather than me having to wait over 6 months for the pre-existing clause of my upcoming insurance to kick in, and I was wondering if any of you have had any experiences with the CEC in Atlanta?? I have been reading about various ways to perform surgery to remove endo and I am curious of any stories (good or bad) about these guys.
Cheers.

I have not had surgery there, but it was my second choice and from what I have heard from other endo ladies I would go there in a heartbeat (my surgeon is also terrific, an hour away, and accepts insurance). They are the leading surgeons for endo excision, they are very used to having women travel for surgery and are willing to work with people on payment plans. They have a lot of resources on their website if you haven't yet checked it out. They do free records review, a great place to start.

Thanks semicolon. Yes, I have been reading a lot of reviews about them and have been on their website to read through all of the info. The resources on their site are extremely thorough--a welcome change! I am in the process of collecting all of my medical records to be able to submit my records for review to see what my options are. I haven't been diagnosed with endo though... My records are of all my abdominal related visits over the years. I am not sure what they will be able to advise without that? Has anyone you know had any experience with this? I truly can't imagine that it isn't endo that is causing all my pain and bleeding, but every now and then, after all the years, I find myself wondering if it is all in my head!! :/ And I know this is silly, because of everything I have been going through, such is the frustration of where I am at right now... I currently live in CO, but am very interested in the CEC and certainly willing to travel for the right surgeon/specialist.

I also knew I had endo for many years but today finally got the confirmation. The lap. Was two hours and I am definitely hurting right now. But soooo glad my prediction was confirmed. Best of luck!

I find myself having the exact same thoughts. I went to Dr. Yeung at Saint Louis University, he resently came here from Duke University and started a center for endo. He was awesome, just saw him yesterday and he seems pretty confident that its endo. Get it checked out.

I should also mention that Cindy Mosbruker does excision, out of Washingtin state which might be closer. She trained with Dr. Redwine, several members here have had surgery with her.

Kristyn--I know it's not great news to have endo, but I can imagine the relief of knowing what you are dealing with! I am very happy for you and wish you a speedy recovery. Keep us posted.

Cheers Emily. I am happy you are on the road to a diagnosis. I want that so badly, but I don't have the money right now to do anything :/
Semicolon -- Thanks again! I have heard good things about Mosbrucker, but I just wasn't sure of her facilities or insurance. It also seems like it would be harder to set anything up, as I haven't found anyway to have my files reviewed etc. It seems I would have to fly there first just to see if she would schedule surgery and then have to go again. I will look into it more though.
