Hello there, I feel, after my own recent experience of complementary therapy, that it is worth pointing out that there are some herbs and plant substances which can worsen endometriosis pain. In otherwise healthy individuals, such plants do not harm the person and may have beneficial effects. However, for those with hormone dependent diseases, such as breast, ovarian, uterine and prostate cancer, as well as endometriosis, the following are to be avoided: MOST ESPECIALLY: - alfalfa - >:(red clover AND POSSIBLY ALSO: -clover -sunflower seeds -Queen Anne's lace (wild carrot) -pomegranate -fennel -licorice -yucca -hops (beer) -motherwort -bloodroot -ocotillo -mandrake -oregano -damiana -pennyroyal -verbenna -nutmeg -turmeric -thyme -calamus rt -goldenseal -mistletoe -cumin -camomile -cloves The harm does not come from comsuming these substances occasionally, but from swallowing them regularly and in doses the body is not accustomed to. So, for example, if you begin taking a twice or thrice daily dose of a herbal preparation which happens to contain one of the above plant substances, they can worsen pain. It pays to read labels of herbal preparations carefully, and to to know what any herbalist is putting into a "custom-made" concoction for you. Be well!

Looks liek I'll have to make my own herb mixes rather than buy ready prepared 'italian seasoning' or 'mixed herbs' cos a few of those make regular appearances in my cupboards! Disappointed about the camomile as I'm a big drinker. Wowsers. Do you have a site that you referred to for this PD, or any more specifics as to the problems these things cause? I'm really concerned, the first thing I do when in discomfort (and did last week when I was sweating with the pure agony!) is to make a pot of camomile tea
