I drive a lot for my job, and my endo pain loves to get in the way. I also need to have a clear head, so I can only take minimal pain meds.
I get back lower back pain, and bad pain in my right leg. At the worst of the pain I have trouble with mobility and feeling in my right leg, where I try to avoid driving altogether.
My lower abdominal pain also sometimes makes things rough.
Any seat positions, or seat cushions that help?
Any medications other than NSAIDs (body can't tolerate) that work?
Any tricks you use to distract yourself so you can stay focused on the road?

I don't have this problem but I do know of people who buy special cushions for the car seat. If you google "pelvic pain cushions" you can see some of what they look like. Have you tried heating pads or those Icy Hot sticky things?

The seat cushions save my life when I have to be in a car. I have one of those donut ones with the hole for all the hurt parts. It makes things so much easier. I have a hole in my bike seat for the same reason

willow82, I get this horrible pain a lot! I was just looking up those pillows Jenaya mentioned and I'm really curious to try one. Wish I had time to make one before we vacation! I wonder if they work?

I always wondered how you handled the bike seat.... that is an awsome idea.

I have a basic cheapie cushion with the cutout hole for my tailbone and it sucks. If you get one, get one with a better cushion like gel or memory foam or something more dense. I use mine at work and don't even bother half the time because it's kinda useless. Don't try to skimp on it!

I'm thinking I might get something for lower lumbar support, since most of my leg pain is related to my lower back. Right now I try and keep my seat tilted back some, and back enough to allow my leg some space. What sucks is when I have to sit up for left turns and what not

OH man, I could write the Bible on how to bike with endo. let me know if you ever want me to deliver my lecture. I have designed every single piece of my bicycle to manage pain.

I just took an 8 hour drive to visit my grandma on a pretty bad pain day. I got through it because my car has a seat warmer and also I used the cruise control most of the time. With cruise on I could move my legs around quite a bit to avoid leg numbness which often happens to me with pain. I would also do fun exercises along to fast songs, like squeezing my butt muscles together really fast for an entire song, or flexing my calves or rolling my ankles...etc... I changed my seat position every now and then too.
