I had my lap on May 23rd. Two of my three incisions have closed and healed up and look fine. One incision has a small opening and is draining clear yellowish fluid. The incision has a little bump but isn't red or swollen. I'll bring it up to the doctor next time I go but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem.
Jenaya, I read on the board that you had one, did it heal on its own or did it have to be drained? Mine is pretty small and I'm hoping it will heal on its own.

Mine took like two months to heal. It was so big that it burst open by itself and drained. It was so gross! I went back to my doctor because I thought it was an infection because it was draining so much fluid. The doctor opened up the incision even more than the little hole that burst open. He opened it about an inch long. Then that part that had to be reopened healed into a big keloid now I had a bunch of lymph nodes removed and I'm guessing that a stitch inside came out and I lost fluid which is why my seroma was so big. I distinctly remember when I popped that stitch because I tried to sit up and then felt this extreme pain and then that giant lump developed. It will heal on its own but it will take longer than the other two. Just make sure yours doesn't get red around the incision and also watch for smelly fluid or drainage.

A smelly discharge is a sign of infection. It is very distinctive you will not have to guess does that smell strange you will know.

Then that part that had to be reopened healed into a big keloid now Jenaya - have you tried any of those silicone gel scar sheets? They are great for helping scars, new or old. I use them for my mole removals.

I used some prescription keloid cream for a while but kinda just gave up. I don't like the keloid but I don't really want to make a big deal about it either. Maybe I'll try that stuff you mentioned one day when I get sick of looking at it
