I had my first lap almost three weeks ago. My incisions have healed, my doctor has given me the ok to go back to work and do normal things, everything was going well. This morning I woke up with pain in my lower left pelvic area, mind you this is where all my pain has always been. I am on birth control continuously so I don't ovulate or have a period so I know that's not what is going on. I had to take a Vicodin which I never do unless I have to. I don't know what to do and am having a hard time not getting discouraged since we just had the lap done with the treatment for endo. There was a lot of scar tissue that was taken care of. Is there a reason to be concerned or am I just being super worried about nothing? I just can't imagine going through this again right after surgery and having to do it all over again so soon. If the pain is still there tomorrow I think we will call the doctor but I just don't want to come across as a pansy. Help???

This may be your body's way of telling you to take it easy. You may be doing to much to fast. I would call your Dr and let him know just in case

I had a lot of left sided pain with my first period after my lap, I was so down (I had already had a colon resection and left ovary removed). But it got a lot better. Even if you are on continual BC you can have some hormone fluctuations- any chance this is the time you would normally have your period if you weren't on the BC? How are you feeling today? Sometimes our bodies do crazy things after surgery and it is stressful, hang in there!

My period would have been due on the 14th, so it's not near the time I would have had it. I haven't had one since January. I am still in pain but just work through it. I did something to my lower back a week ago that has been hurting so I wonder if maybe that may have hurt my stomach/insides,etc... I am just frustrated with not being able to do normal things without wondering if I need to take a Motrin or a Vicodin... Thanks for the advice!

Three weeks post lap could mean that you're still healing. Or, it could mean that your lap wasn't successful at eliminating the pain. I don't think you'd know that by now just yet, though. Give it a bit of time - a lot of us took at least a month or more before we knew what our new normal was like!
