I had a lap 11 days ago and still have so much gas in my body. It hurts in my back so bad. I am still so bloated and my pants don't fit right because of it. I have walked a lot today hoping it would help. It makes it difficult to sleep because of the pain I am in. Have any of you found help to get rid of the gas and pain after surgery? Is it normal for it to last this long?

HI!
I think you should check afew threads up in the recovery thread. If memory serves me right, some members reported drinking soda helped to burp and express the gas. I know there is a stretch you can do, lie on your back and bring one of your knees to your chest - it helps to fart if you are gassy in that regard. I just did a google search and many say just drink a ton of water and walk. I haven't had a lap in 10 years so I'm sorry, I'm not much help in this department. Maybe one of the other ladies will chime in who have recently had one to help you out.

Loveshoes, if you can somehow make an illustration for women on how to bring their knees to their chest after having an abdominal surgery then seriously, patent that and sell it cause that would be a miracle. LOL
