I ran across this article today written by Ashley Judd after the tabloids ripped her apart for having a puffy face. They accused her of having "work done" but in reality she was taking steroids to fight an illness. In this article she addresses how women's body image is constantly bombarded and picked apart and decided to speak out against it. I really love this article and I think we could really learn a lot with her type of mindset. We are constantly told what we have to look like, how we're supposed to feel, and how our self worth is somehow based on what other people value as "beautiful." Here is the link if you have the time. It's very empowering! www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2012/04/09/ashley-judd-slaps-media-in-the-face-for-speculation-over-her-puffy-appearance.html"We are described and detailed, our faces and bodies analyzed and picked apart, our worth ascertained and ascribed based on the reduction of personhood to simple physical objectification. Our voices, our personhood, our potential, and our accomplishments are regularly minimized and muted." -Ashley Judd
