I'm having the same issues yet again. I'm in so much pain right now I can hardly take it. Ugh I hate this part. Nothing is cutting the pain.

Can he give you something stronger -- or even just something different? Sometimes certain meds don't work for certain people. I really tough it out at home, rarely even give into advil. So, it's not like I have any tolerance at all. With surgeries morphine doesn't even help in IV and vicodin and percocet are useless to me (and percocet makes me itch like crazy). I still have full bottles of them (probably expired by now). The last time they gave me dilaudid and it seemed to work best for me. I was treated like a drug seeker when I turned down the other two, but oh well. I finally had pain relief.

I took 1/2 a percocet after my surgery. It didn't do anything for the pain, and just made me feel like I was crawling out of my skin--very unpleasant!! can you call Dr. Redwine's office and see if he can prescribe you something different? it seems from Jess' posts that he's pretty open to trying to figure out medicine that will work for you.
I hope you get some relief soon, Paint. Thinking of you.

Do you have a heat pack? They gave me a few of those break & heat ones to take to the hotel. I think I have some Tramidol because I can't do Vicodin or Percocets (vomit city, population me). Sleep a lot of you can, and get up at least four times a day even if it's just to walk around the cottage a little. I hope tomorrow is better, paint!

Thanks girls. It's finally subsided a bit now. I called Dr. Redwine and he called in a stronger script for Percocet. Percocet can make me nauseous, but it's one of the very few narcotics that works for me. I just wasn't taking as many as I should have been. Now I feel like I'm in a drug induced coma, but the pain is finally letting up.
I got to meet Jess for a little bit and she painted my nails. =) I wish we could have hung out more, but I am literally falling asleep every 45 minutes or so because I am so so tired.
I talked to Kate earlier today as well Dr. Redwines assistant and she said that Dr. Redwine performed quite a bit of excision on me so she wasn't surprised that I was in so much pain. She reminded me that I really need to take it easy. I got up this morning and took a shower and then rode in the car with my Mom while she got me some breakfast. In hindsight that might not have been the best idea. I just have to keep remind myself to lay low.

HOW COOL that you got to meet Jess!! How sweet!!! AWWW!!!
I hope that the pain lets up soon! I'm really glad to hear that your endo was excised. I am really excited to see how you feel after you recover. After my last surgery (non-endo related) I was put on a fentanyl pump and then after I got off that I was prescribed oxycodone. I know those are hardcore narcotics but I had my entire mid section cut in half. But, it really got rid of the pain. In fact, it worked so well that I felt like I was constantly floating on a cloud. LOL Hopefully you won't need anything like that. Keep updating us! I hope you feel better today!

Still feeling like hell in a handbag this morning. All the percocet I was popping last night caught up with me and I started feeling all itchy and crazy. My poor body is so confused at this point that I started my period on top of everything else. I'm having gas pain too, but I can't produce a bowel movement since I did a bowel prep on Monday. I can see why you did fentanyl pump Jenaya. I can't imagine what your post surgery pain was like. Feeling like you are floating on a cloud doesn't sound half bad. I'm just laying down and taking it easy. It's just one of those days where I feel like this is a little to much. I'm really starting to miss my home and my kitty. I feel like I'm annoying my Mom too because I can't do anything. Bleh I just hate feeling helpless, but that's what recovering from surgery is like I suppose. It's humbling because I am so fiercely independent and have a hard time letting others take care of me. Just going to try to sleep it off today. I'm glad I have you girls to talk and vent to. Thanks for always listening to me even when I'm a grumble gus.

Grumble gus away!!!! So cool you got to meet Jess The first few days after my surgery were the worst for me; every movement hurting like hell and generally feeling like absolute pants! Also, I had the 'I'm being useless' feeling, but my boyf was really good and just said if he was the one who had surgery would I be annoyed at him - NO!!! So don't worry about that Get some sleep and stay relaxed xxx

I hope tommorrow is better. I always feel god awful the day before I finally have a break thru. It's really like they say, it gets worse before it gets better.
As I was reading your words I could remember feeling the same exact way! Just know we all understand and you will get thru it.

Aw, man, I'm sorry you're still in so much pain! I feel for you and I hope it gets better, and soon!
If you're desperate and have a computer nearby, see if you can download a pain management MP3. I swear, when I'm at my worst and ready to break down, that at least calms me down enough so I don't focus on the pain. Let me know if you need any recommendations!

After my colon resection I had a lot of gas pain, I found it helpful to get up and walk a bit before and after eating. Not that I was eating that much anyway. And your mom can shove it! Actually, she is probably just wanting you to feel better, so when you aren't it translates into frustration towards you (especially because she can't help you or make you feel better). You'll be home soon enough . Hoping tomorrow is a new and better day for you.

Had my post op appointment with Dr. Redwine this morning. It was a brief appointment. He looked at my incisions to make sure they were healing alright, asked me a series of questions, and handed me a folder with my operative report and aftercare instructions.
Like Dr. Redwine had mentioned to my Mom my endo was found all over inside my pelvic cavity. I had some minimal adhesion's on my ovaries that he took care of. My bladder had evidence of endo on the right and left side. They removed the small foreign body which was thought to be a hernia, but was just fat. My posterior pelvis showed areas of yellow scarred retracted peritoneum compatible with endo in the left and right broad ligaments as well as the right cul-de-sac. The right broad ligament and left cul-de-sac had peritoneal pockets which had endometriosis with in them. So he basically excised all of the endo and did a resection of my uterosacral ligaments.
He said he was not surprised that I was in so much pain and feel that this surgery should be successful in dealing with all of my pelvic pain. I'm very pleased with him and the care I received at the hospital. I'm relieved to have this all behind me and look forward to getting back to Colorado and recovering.
Thank you all for your support and encouraging words. If anyone has any questions about my surgery or Dr. Redwine please feel free to PM me. I am happy to share my experience.
