Hey, I am probably going to call the doctor and/or go to the ER tomorrow if i still feel like this, but has anyone felt nauseous and dizzy 5 days following their surgery?
I haven't taken anything but advil in 24 hours so i dont think it's the drugs...
I don't have a fever at all, but i feel like it

It may be the anesthesia? Some people react really strange to it. Regardless, I think a trip to the doctor is in order!

Okay, this is crazy to me, but i think it was caffeine withdraw.
This seems nuts to me because:
#1 I barely drink coffee now, like, once every other day, sometimes going a few weeks without it and i've never had any bad reaction from quitting for a few weeks
#2 I seriously felt like i had the flu, totally nauseous and really really dizzy, and i always though caffeine withdraw was a headache??

It could be caffeine or simply low sugar. If you are knocking back pain killers with water and not eating a balanced diet (including sugars) while your body has a lot of urgent healing to do, then its prescious resources will be concentrated on those parts that need healing, leaving the rest of you feeling rather unwell. Dizzyness can be low bloodpressure post op, so take things slowly. Dizzyness can also makeyou feel nauseous..... like car sickness does.
Have a few chocky bars or biscuits on standby, or take your advil with juice squash (the stuff you dilute, only don't diilute it too much if you need the sugar hit.)
Caffeine might help but probably only if it is a non fizzy drink that includes sugar, or with sugar added to tea/coffee. You are best advised to avoid taking fizzy pop gas in to your system just yet..it hurts !
If you still feel unwell or feel worse in a day or so after adding back some sugar fuel for your cells then do see a doc to check bloodpressure and for signs of infection.

I only have a few minutes but YES, YES, YES. I have pucked after every surgery and every procedure I have had anestheias for. I'm sorry I didn't see this sooner. Ask your doctor for some suppositories if it continues. Mine lasts several weeks but usually 3-5 days is the worst and then it flushes out. It IS due to the anesthesia. I have vomitted while wearing Dramamine patches and all kinds of other treatments. Its horrible but it happens and it will go away. I always tell my anesthetist now and some of them try different tricks but... it doesn't work. I just expect to puke, vomit, and feel all around horrible and some point in time.

Okay, i can now say that it was DEFINITELY caffeine. The anesthesia was definitely making me sick the first two days, but this flu like thing has been the coffee. I drank two large cups and after an hour I felt almost totally normal again, and have continued to feel normal since.
I've never had a problem or any reaction going off of coffee, but maybe because the bowel prep got it all out of my system at once, my body went nuts??? Serious flu symptoms, it was crazy!!!!
