Hello all,
I would love to explain my whole story but I feel it'd take too long. So I'll do my best to cut to the chase here. I have been suffering with unbelievable pain and unpredictable cycles since I started to develop when I was 14. I am almost 26 now and my symptoms have become even worse over the past year. I've been in and out of the ER several times this year due to it and have had multiple tests done. After bouncing back and forth from doctors I finally went back to my original one at Planned Parenthood. (The only reason I saw others is because planned parenthood can only do so much). After examining me twice now and seeing that my symptoms seemed to be progressing she told me that she was sure I had Endo. I told her she was about the 4th doctor to tell that. At that point she chose to treat me as though I have it and we started me on Microgestion birth control. She told me to keep going through the packs as to not have a cycle. So far it's really just only keeping the edge off.
My doctor has done her best to encourage me to get a laproscopy done. It's gotten to the point now where that's really only the next step. However, I am a unemployed college student with no health insurance. There is no possible way I could afford the surgery. I couldn't even afford to pay off the bills slowly. As my symptoms get worse I feel as though I will never be able to have this surgery. I recently was pointed to a clinical trial that they are holding for Endo. (http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01184144?cond=%22Endometriosis%22&rank=7)
My question is: Has any one done this? How would you go about doing it? Is it a good idea? Is there ANY sort of financial help I could get for this surgery? What the hell would you do in my shoes? x.x;
Sincerely,
A very lost 25 year old. :/
