I just got home from the hospital today, so I thought I'd post a brief update on how things went.
I had stage 2 endo, which was about what we were expecting. I also have mild IC - the pictures he took of my bladder are just awful. My poor bladder, there were tiny hemorrhages everywhere. :-( But Dr. Sinervo said it looked like a mild case. My rectum was attached to either my vagina or my uterus (can't exactly remember now), and my appendix was twisted or kinked so he removed it. My tubes were clear, my uterus was normal, and although I do have adenomyosis, he said it wasn't too bad.
Recovery has been going pretty well. Gas pain hasn't been too bad, but I have had trouble with urinating and breathing deeply. And even though I'm on pain meds that should be constipating, I'm having very soft stools. I hope all of that is normal....
Anyway, I definitely want to put in a good word for Dr. Sinervo and the CEC. They really did a great job at calming my fears and explaining everything he did. It's still way too early to see how much this helps my health (especially since I still have untreated IC and adenomysis), but even if I only get minimal relief I still think surgery was the right choice based on what we knew at the time.

Glad recovery is going well! And a good BM is worth a million bucks, right?
