Does anyone know if it is possible to still have endo, although none showed up during recent lap? I was diagnosed with endo several years ago during surgery, but recently had to undergo a lap due to lower abdominal pain. My doctor did not see any endo during lap, however I did have a cyst and scar tissue on appendix and fallopian tube.

Endo can be microscopic. Did the doc take any biopsies?

As far as I know he did. He told me my pathology was fine. Its just when he showed me my photos and stated he didnt "see" any endo, I just was sure if having endo had to actually be visible during lap. If feel alot of my symptoms/issues is related ..Thanks for you insight.

Endo can be microscopic or it could be somewhere that isn't visible or wasn't checked. Is your doc an endo expert? Some docs aren't as trained to know what to look for.

Did you see your path report? It should say where tissue samples where taken and the results. Sorry for your frustration! Also, try to get a copy of the pictures so you can have them in case you need another opinion in the future.

Did he remove the cyst and address the scar tissue? Endo can be microscopic and in those cases it's difficult to diagnose. Your symptoms might have been due to the cyst and scar tissue too. You'd be surprised how painful those little suckers can be. Are you feeling any better since your lap?

Hi Karen, no he's a regular OB/GYN doctor. @ semicolon, I didnt see the pathology report myself. He verbally gave me the information. That's not a bad idea to get copies , I go back to see him for a follow up ultrasound in 2 months. He wants to keep an eye on the left ovary where the cyst was located. Jenaya, yes he did remove the cyst and the scar/adhesions tissue. There were a lot of scar tissue/adhesions. I think also having my appendix attached to my fallopian tube was causing a lot of pain also. The lap helped alot because I was very miserable before it and in a lot of pain. I feel much better afterwards. Thanks
