Anyone feel like being sick is a job? I feel like I work to get healthy. Doctor appointments, travel, time on the phone to insurance, research, pharmacy visits! It takes me longer to do all of those tasks than the hours I actually work! That is not including the trips to the bathroom, puking, headaches, bloating and over all un well feeling. Fruatrated with it all I want to be one of the lucky girls that get to just live, work and be normal!

I hear you. I have mine pretty much under control these days with diet and Moon Pearls, but yeh, it is a job. So much research to find out what I can and can't eat, trying different therapies (that almost always work for a little while and then stop). But I don't think anyone is really that lucky that they can just do whatever. Sure there are some women more lucky than us, but there are thousands of diseases out there, many of them chronic, that women can be afflicted with. I know a woman with Lyme disease, for example, and she gets REALLY sick from it. Unfortunately, she didn't know she had it until it was too late to control.

OMG YES! When I was at my worst I was having like 5-6 doctor appointments a week between George the tumor, my neurologist, all the blood tests, endoscopies, MRI scans, physical therapy, then add on that the commute time. It was so much!!

YES! And I think that's why the stress of being ill and still trying to keep all our other "jobs" going, is driving us all [glow=red,2,300]CRAZY!!![/glow]

yep agreed--it's a full time job. Sometimes I resent it, but mostly I just think how much more I appreciate my health since I have to fight for it.

It really is. I have so many appointments centered around my health that are my first priority. Plus just living life and all of it's responsibilities.
I just try to practice an attitude of gratitude. I feel better emotionally and mentally when I know I am taking care of myself and doing things I know will benefit my health. As exhausting as it can be I know it's what's best for me.

It is exhausting! And I don't know when people with jobs are supposed to make phone calls for all these appointments & follow ups too Especially when offices are closed over lunch, but I guess everyone needs lunch.
I love all the positive vibes, ladies!

I agree.. I spend more time working on the road and at home due to all my appts than in the office. What I would give for an entire day without thinking/dealing with this. Okay, really I'd want two ;D

So true! Bad night for me... I appreciate even being able to take a drink of water people do not realize what it is like to go without the simple things in life. If I had more time to do it all be sick and do everything else I would not complain but I dobt even have time to be sick I have too much going on. I have considered not working but I need something to keep my mind off being sick:(
